White Sox released INF Brandon Drury.
The 32-year-old had been stationed on the injured list at Triple-A Charlotte since April 26 when he injured his wrist on a hit by pitch. It’s unclear if Drury plans to look for opportunities elsewhere or if this could be the end of the line for him. Prior to the injury, he was hitting .179/.319/.282 with one homer, three RBI and a 10/7 K/BB ratio through his first 47 plate appearances at Triple-A Charlotte.

Brandon Drury went 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBI for Triple-A Charlotte on Sunday.
The White Sox needed a backup infielder with Chase Meidroth landing on the IL, but they opted for Bobby Dalbec instead of Drury. Perhaps that should tell us that Meidroth won’t be out for a long time, but it also tells us that they’re not ready to move on from any of their active infielders to call up the 32-year-old Drury. It could happen in the next month or so though.

Brandon Drury went 2-for-4 with a walk and a run scored for Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday.
This was Drury’s first rehab game after fracturing his thumb in spring training. The veteran had a tremendous spring, hitting .410/.439/.821 with three home runs and 11 RBI in 41 plate appearances and seemed set to make the White Sox’s opening day roster before getting hurt. He’ll likely need at least another week of rehab games, but he could easily force his way into this White Sox lineup.

White Sox re-signed INF Brandon Drury to a minor league contract.
Drury had a terrific spring and was tracking to open up as the White Sox’s primary DH, but he suffered a fractured thumb a week before the season started and was released from his minor league deal. One imagines he’s still a few weeks away from being an option for the club, but he could emerge as a regular in May.

White Sox released 3B Brandon Drury.
Drury had the option to test free agency if he wasn’t selected for the Opening Day roster and he exercised that right Sunday. The 32-year-old infielder was having a great spring and seemed like a lock for Chicago’s roster before he broke his thumb. It’s unclear when Drury might be able to play again or what his plans are going forward.

Brandon Drury has been diagnosed with a fractured left thumb.
Ugh. Drury was tearing the cover off the ball this spring and was poised to open the regular season as Chicago’s primary DH. He’s scheduled to be re-evaluated early next week to determine his next course of action, but fantasy managers should anticipate an extended absence. There should be some clarity on his status at some point next week.

Brandon Drury was scratched from Friday’s lineup against the Reds due to a bruised right hand.
Drury will miss Saturday’s game with the contusion, and the 32-year-old should be considered day-to-day for now. Drury has a good chance of breaking camp with the White Sox, but the team will have to add him to the 40-man roster.

Brandon Drury was scratched from Friday’s Cactus League game against the Reds.
No reason was given as to why Drury was given the boot from the lineup. The 32-year-old has performed well this spring, and assuming he’s healthy — or hasn’t opted out — he stands a good chance of making the White Sox to begin the year.

Brandon Drury went 3-for-3 on Monday in the White Sox’ shutout loss to the Giants in Cactus League action.
Drury has made the most of his opportunity this spring, hitting .410 (16-for-39) with three homers and 11 RBI, which puts him in the driver’s seat to break camp as Chicago’s starting DH. The 32-year-old veteran fell off fantasy manager’s radar screens last year when he hit .169 with four homers in 97 games for the Angels, but he eclipsed the 25-homer mark in each of the previous two seasons. He’ll be a cheap power source in deeper mixed leagues and AL-only formats.

Brandon Drury homered twice, doubled, drove in five runs and walked to lead the White Sox to a 7-3 win over the Reds on Friday.
Drury already seemed like a good bet to make the White Sox, but he probably clinched his roster spot today. Well, unless someone wants to give the White Sox a prospect for him, that is. Drury is batting .364/.400/.818 in 35 plate appearances. He’ll probably see a lot of time at DH and mix in occasional infield starts. It shouldn’t lead to mixed-league value; even if he does pull off a nice rebound, the lack of production around him will hold him back for fantasy purposes.
