Brady Singer allowed two runs on five hits in five innings in a loss to the Pirates on Wednesday.
Singer also walked four and struck out three in the outing, needing 102 pitches to get through five innings. He struggled to command his four-seam fastball and got just one whiff on his slider on 13 swings. It’s been a disappointing first season in Cincinnati for Singer, who will carry a 4.88 ERA into a showdown on the road against his old team, the Kansas City Royals.

Brady Singer worked five innings and allowed three runs in a win over the Guardians on Friday.
Singer allowed three hits, walked three and struck out four. He’s totaled only seven strikeouts in three starts this month, so he’s looking like a fairly weak option in mixed leagues right now. Fortunately, he is facing the Pirates next, and he wouldn’t be a bad play in that one.

Spotted a 10-run lead in the first, Brady Singer managed just seven outs and gave up seven runs Saturday against the Astros.
A stunning outing from Singer, who had been nothing but solid through six weeks with the Reds. He hadn’t allowed more than three earned runs in any of his seven starts coming into this one. The Astros got to him for nine hits, with six of those coming in the six-run third inning. It cost Singer what should have been the easiest win of his life, and his ERA jumped from 3.66 to 4.97. He’ll face the Guardians next.

Brady Singer lost to the Braves after allowing four runs in six innings Monday.
Singer’s 102 pitches produced 44 swings and just three misses. He wound up with only two strikeouts and a 19 percent CSW. Singer has been really solid this year in going 4-2 with a 3.66 ERA, but with his groundball rate collapsing, he needs to maintain the early season improvement in his K rate. He doesn’t seem like a very good play with a road start in Houston coming up.

Brady Singer took a tough loss after pitching six innings of one-run ball against the Cardinals on Wednesday.
Singer’s second-best performance to date produced his first loss for the Reds, as he had been 4-0 with a 3.62 ERA. The Cardinals managed only a homer and a single against him today, lowering his batting-average against this season to .198. He’ll face the Braves in Atlanta next time out.

Tuesday’s game between the Cardinals and Reds has been postponed due to inclement weather.
There was a chance to get this game in on Tuesday night, if both teams wanted to sit through a lengthy rain delay. That’s not happening. It’ll be made up on Wednesday as a split doubleheader instead. Tuesday’s original starters — Miles Mikolas and Brady Singer — will presumably take the ball at some point during the twin bill.

Brady Singer delivered six innings of two-run ball and fanned eight in a win over the Marlins on Wednesday.
Matt Mervis hit a two-run homer in the first, but those turned out to be the Marlins’ only runs of the game. Singer’s second quality start of the year moved him to 4-0 with a 3.62 ERA. The Reds have scored at least five runs in all five of his starts, topping out at 14. Singer will face the Cardinals next.

Brady Singer allowed four runs — two earned — while working 4 1/3 innings in a no-decision versus the Mariners on Thursday.
Singer gave up a two-run homer to Luke Raley, and two more runs were scored on an error by Elly De La Cruz. It certainly wasn’t Singer at his best, but he was able to pick up six strikeouts against three walks. Coulda been better, coulda been worse. Singer gets a friendly outing on paper next time out with a scheduled start against the Marlins in Miami.

Brady Singer surrendered three runs over five innings Friday in a victory over the Pirates.
Singer allowed only two hits, but they were a double and a homer that came back-to-back and after a one-out walk in the fifth. The homer, hit by Adam Frazier, was a 347-foot fly down the right field line, and it was the first surrendered by Singer this season. He’s 3-0 with a 3.18 ERA as he prepares to face the Mariners next week.

Brady Singer won despite allowing five runs — three earned — in five innings Saturday against the Brewers.
Singer had quite a cushion, with the Reds taking a 7-0 lead in the fourth. He went on to allow one run in the bottom of that inning and then four before finally closing out the fifth. Singer struck out seven and walked one in improving to 2-0 with a 2.25 ERA. He’ll be a solid play against the Pirates next week.
