    Cubs released LHP Brad Wieck.
Wieck hasn’t appeared in the majors since the 2021 campaign due to injury. The 32-year-old southpaw has made 65 appearances in the big leagues dating back to 2018. He posted a serviceable 4.94 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 29/10 K/BB ratio across 27 1/3 innings (21 appearances) this season for Triple-A Iowa.

Cubs reassigned LHP Brad Wieck and RHPs Sam McWilliams and Chris Clarke to minor league camp.
The trio of non-roster invitees will head to the minor league side of camp for the rest of spring. Wieck is the most notable inclusion as he continues his rehabilitation from Tommy John surgery. He’s not expected to be an option for the Cubs until the second half of the season.

Cubs re-signed LHP Brad Wieck to a two-year minor league contract.
Wieck underwent Tommy John surgery last July and will be sidelined through at least August of the impending campaign, so this deal is more about his potential 2024 impact. The 31-year-old left-hander has been an effective reliever at times in the past, holding a career 3.77 ERA and 89/24 K/BB ratio in 59 2/3 total major league innings.

Cubs sent LHP Brad Wieck outright to Triple-A Iowa.
Wieck had Tommy John surgery in July, so he’ll miss much of next year. The 31-year-old has a 3.77 ERA in 65 relief appearances as a major leaguer.

The Cubs announced Friday that left-hander Brad Wieck underwent successful Tommy John surgery on Wednesday.
Wieck missed the majority of the 2021 season after undergoing a cardiac ablation procedure on his heart in late August. He was then shut down in March after feeling something in his elbow. He’ll now miss the entire 2022 campaign -- and most of the 2023 season as well -- while recovering from the procedure.

Cubs placed LHP Brad Wieck on the 60-day injured list.
The Cubs hadn’t previously revealed an injury for Wieck, but now they’re saying he felt something in a bullpen session earlier this week. Since they’re facing a roster crunch after all of their recent signings, they’re sticking him on the 60-day injured list to free up a 40-man roster spot. The veteran lefty missed much of last season after a heart procedure, but he was expected to be ready to go this year.

Brad Wieck (heart) has been cleared for all activities.
Wieck underwent a cardiac ablation procedure in late August, but he’s made a full recovery and is expected to be on a normal schedule going into spring training.

Cubs transferred LHP Brad Wieck to the 60-day injured list.
Wieck will undergo a cardiac ablation procedure, which is the same operation he had back in spring training of 2020. There is no timetable for his return, but it seems unlikely that the lefty will make it back this season.

Cubs placed LHP Brad Wieck on the 10-day injured list with an irregular heartbeat.
Wieck underwent a cardiac ablation procedure back in February of 2020, so this isn’t anything to take lightly. Here’s to hoping he has a quick recovery.

Cubs recall LHP Brad Wieck from Triple-A Iowa.
The left-hander has pitched well while in the majors this season, carrying a perfect ERA with a 1.13 WHIP over eight innings. Wieck was called up to take the place of Robert Strock, who was optioned to Triple-A Iowa Thursday.
