Padres signed INF/OF Brad Miller to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring camp.
Miller was recently with the Rangers for the past two seasons. He had his 2023 season cut short when he was placed on the 60-day injured list with a hamstring injury in September. The 34-year-old journeyman has been with seven different franchises during his 11-year career. The left-handed hitter is likely to compete for a bench spot while with the Padres.

Rangers transferred INF/OF Brad Miller to the 60-day injured list.
Miller had been on a minor league rehab assignment at Double-A Frisco after recovering from a left hamstring strain, but now he won’t be eligible to return before the end of the regular season. The move frees up a spot on the Rangers’ 40-man roster for Evan Carter to join the big league roster on Friday.

Brad Miller (hamstring) will begin a minor league rehab assignment with Double-A Frisco on Friday.
Miller landed on the injured list at the start of the month due to a left hamstring strain. The veteran hasn’t done much with the Rangers this season, but he should be ready to return soon if there’s a need.

Rangers placed INF/OF Brad Miller on the 10-day injured list with a left hamstring strain.
No word yet on the severity of the strain, which will determine how long Miller winds up being sidelined. The 33-year-old heads to the injured list with Corey Seager set to return for Wednesday’s contest against the White Sox.

Brad Miller went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk and two runs scored as the Rangers topped the Dodgers 8-4 on Sunday.
Presumably as some sort of reward for his two-inning mop-up appearance in Saturday’s 16-3 loss, Miller started today for the first time since May 9. Now, he did spend four weeks on the IL last month, but even so, that’s about six weeks on the active roster in which he had a total of seven plate appearances. Nevertheless, he came through nicely today. Maybe he’ll get more DH time at Mitch Garver’s expense while Corey Seager is out.

Rangers activated INF/OF Brad Miller from the 10-day injured list.
Miller has been shelved since the end of May due to a right oblique strain. The 33-year-old has struggled at the dish this season, slashing a meager .208/.304/.333 with one homer and six RBI in 48 at-bats.

Rangers placed INF/OF Brad Miller on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to May 31, with a right oblique strain.
Miller figures to miss at least a couple weeks before returning to a bench role with the Rangers. The versatile 33-year-old has 10 hits, including one homer, in 48 at-bats over 22 games this season.

Even with Robbie Grossman on the bench, Brad Miller is out of the Rangers lineup for a sixth straight game Wednesday against the Diamondbacks.
Miller opened up as the primary DH against right-handers, but that’s been Grossman’s role of late. Today, though, Jonah Heim is getting a half day off by DHing instead of catching. We wonder if the Rangers might just release Miller at some point here. He’s batting .179/.283/.282 in 46 PA, and the Rangers don’t like using him in the outfield; he hasn’t started a game anywhere other than DH this season.

Brad Miller socked his third home run of the Cactus League season in Saturday’s loss to the Padres.
Miller victimized Padres’ right-hander Luis Garcia for his solo shot in the seventh inning, pulling the Rangers to within two runs at 5-3. That would be as close as they would get. Miller finished the day 1-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts and is now hitting .244 (10-for-41) with three homers, five RBI and a one swipe on the spring.

Rangers transferred INF/OF Brad Miller from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day injured list.
Miller’s season is officially over. The procedural move opens up a spot on the Rangers’ 40-man roster for the club to scoop up Drew Strotman off waivers from the Twins. The 32-year-old utility specialist has been out since early September due to a right hip strain. He should be ready in plenty of time for spring training.
