Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins told reporters Tuesday that Bo Bichette (finger) is on track to be ready for Opening Day.
It wasn’t a firm declaration, but Atkins made it clear that Bichette hasn’t experienced any setbacks during his rehabilitation process following surgery back in late September to address a lingering right middle finger injury. The 26-year-old shortstop looks like an obvious bounce-back candidate for fantasy purposes next season and should be an easy top-15 selection at the position in drafts next spring.

Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins told MLB Network’s Jon Morosi that it’s “an easy no” on trade talks involving Bo Bichette.
Bichette, who underwent finger surgery back in late September, battled through an injury-marred campaign last year, but it sounds like the Blue Jays have zero intention of dealing one of their franchise cornerstones. If healthy, the 26-year-old shortstop feels like a clear rebound candidate for fantasy purposes, and will likely wind up as a top 15 shortstop on draft day.

Bo Bichette will undergo surgery Wednesday to place a pin in his right middle finger.
Bichette will undergo the operation to put a pin in the middle finger that had become “displaced” according to Blue Jays manager John Schneider. The hope is this will allow Bichette to be ready in plenty of time for the 2025 season, and he’s an excellent bounceback candidate from his disappointing 2024 year.

Blue Jays recalled OF Jonatan Clase from Triple-A Buffalo.
Clase will take the spot of Bo Bichette, who landed back on the IL with a fractured finger. The 22-year-old speedster could see starts in center field with Daulton Varsho also hurt and his speed would be a major factor in fantasy leagues, so this is a situation to monitor.

Blue Jays placed SS Bo Bichette on the IL with a fractured right middle finger.
It’s a tough break for Bichette, who was just activated from the IL on Tuesday and then immediately got hurt again. Perhaps we can chalk this up to a lost season for the 26-year-old but his stolen base outputs have been trending down for multiple years and his aggressive approach at the plate has led to declining power production as well. He could be a great value in 2025 drafts if he is able to rebound, but it’s hard to feel confident taking him in the early rounds of drafts anymore.

Bo Bichette was scratched from Wednesday’s lineup with a right middle finger contusion.
Well, he made it one game. Addison Barger replaced him in the lineup, with Ernie Clement moving from third base to short. Bichette is probably day-to-day.

Blue Jays activated SS Bo Bichette.
Bichette has been out since late July with a calf strain, but will be activated ahead of Tuesday night’s game against the Rangers. He hit .222 with four home runs and 30 RBI this year before hitting the injured list. Bichette could provide a good batting average for patient fantasy managers, but is unlikely to be a true difference maker in the last two weeks of the season.

Bo Bichette (calf) will play 6-7 innings Saturday for Triple-A Buffalo during his rehab assignment.
Bichette still isn’t playing full games, but he’s getting closer. The 26-year-old could return to majors as soon as next week if all goes well.

Bo Bichette (calf) won’t play Wednesday for Triple-A Syracuse during his rehab assignment.
Bichette played four innings while going 1-for-3 during his rehab appearance for Syracuse on Tuesday. Blue Jays manager John Schneider told reporters that the 26-year-old was “on his feet more than planned” so the team will give him a day off before he returns to the lineup Thursday. If all goes well, Bichette has a chance to join Toronto in the middle of Setember.

Bo Bichette started at shortstop and went 1-for-3 in his first rehab game for Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday.
Bichette figures to spend the rest of the week with Syracuse before joining the Blue Jays next Tuesday. He’s been sidelined since July due to a calf strain.
