Weiman spent 2024 with the Cubs, and made 42-of-43 appearances with Double-A Tennessee with a 2.77 ERA and impressive 42/8 K/BB in that timeframe. He likely will just be organizational fodder considering he is 29, but his ability to throw strikes gives him an outside chance of joining the Houston bullpen at some point.

Weiman posted a 5.17 ERA and 1.52 WHIP across 54 innings for the Mariners Triple-A affiliate in Tacoma. The 28-year-old gives the Cubs relief pitching depth in the upper minors.

Weiman compiled a serviceable 4.47 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 42.6 K/BB ratio across 44 1/3 innings (34 appearances, one start) last year between Double-A Arkansas and Triple-A Indianapolis. The 27-year-old left-hander gives the Mariners some extra relief depth in the upper minors.
