Tigers acquired RHP Blaie Calvo from the Rockies for cash considerations.
The right-hander was subsequently optioned to Triple-A Toledo. Calvo had been designated for assignment by the Rockies earlier in the week. The 27-year-old hurler has registered a 7.43 ERA, 1.70 WHIP and a 32/10 K/BB ratio over 23 innings at Triple-A Albuquerque this season. He’ll add bullpen depth for the Tigers.

Rockies designated RHP Blair Calvo for assignment.
Calvo has been removed from Colorado’s 40-man roster to make room for backup catcher Jorge Alfaro. The 27-year-old righty made one relief appearance earlier this season for the Rockies.

Rockies optioned RHP Blair Calvo to Triple-A Albuquerque.
Calvo tossed a scoreless inning Tuesday in his major league debut against the Diamondbacks. The 27-year-old righty has been shipped back to the minors to free up a roster spot for Dinelson Lamet to take the ball on Wednesday evening against Arizona.

Rockies recalled RHP Blair Calvo from Triple-A Albuquerque.
Calvo will replace Karl Kauffmann on the Rockies’ active roster. It’s possible that he’s only up with the big league club for a day as extra bullpen depth, and will then be sent back to Triple-A on Wednesday to make room for Dinelson Lamet’s return to the rotation. Calvo, 27, has posted a miserable 8.50 ERA, 1.78 WHIP and 26/9 K/BB ratio across 18 innings at Triple-A Albuquerque this season.

Rockies optioned RHP’s Riley Pint and Blair Calvo to Triple-A Albuquerque and INF’s Warming Bernaebl and Julio Carreras to Double-A Hartford.
The quartet will open the regular season in the minors after spending the rest of the spring on the minor league side of camp. Pint just resumed throwing after being shut down for a few weeks due to an oblique strain. He has a chance to make his major league debut sometime this season.

Rockies selected the contract of RHP Blair Calvo.
It seems that this decision was made before Salvo gave up 14 earned runs in nine innings during the Arizona Fall League. The former 23rd-round pick has a nice fastball-slider combo and might make it as a reliever. He finished with a 3.09 ERA and a 47/11 K/BB ratio in 35 innings in Double-A last year.
