The 26-year-old southpaw had been claimed off waivers by the Tigers from the Red Sox in late November, but he became a roster casualty in Motown in late December after the team signed right-hander Alex Cobb. Horn was hit hard in his time with the Red Sox during the 2024 season, registering a 6.50 ERA, 1.78 WHIP and a 13/10 K/BB ratio over his 18 frames. He’ll add bullpen depth for the Cardinals.

Horn, 26, was just claimed off waivers by the Tigers near the end of November. The left-hander will hit the waiver wire again, and if he goes unclaimed he’ll remain in the Detroit organization but off the 40-man roster.

The 26-year-old southpaw struggled in his time at the big-league level with the Red Sox in 2024, posting a 6.50 ERA, 1.78 WHIP and a 13/10 K/BB ratio across 18 innings. The Tigers’ brass must see something that they like though and given their recent history of turning unheralded pitchers into viable bullpen arms, it’s difficult to argue with them.

Horn is going back to the minors as the corresponding move for the activation of Lucas Sims. He had a 6.50 ERA and 1.77 WHIP in 18 innings with Boston this year.

Horn is coming up as a fresh arm for the Boston bullpen. He has a 6.35 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 13 strikeouts in 17 innings with Boston this year.

Horn spent just seven days on the Boston roster, but he pitched five times, allowing three runs in four innings. He’s now being swapped out for a fresh arm after throwing 29 pitches Sunday.

Horn had a 6.39 ERA in nine appearances before being sent down Aug. 2. He’ll get another look out of the bullpen now.

The Red Sox needed to free up a spot in their bullpen to welcome the addition of Luis Garcia on Friday and Horn was the odd man out this time around. The 26-year-old southpaw posted an uninspiring 6.39 ERA, 1.66 WHIP and a 10/6 K/BB ratio over 12 2/3 innings in nine appearances at the big-league level.

He fills the roster spot opened up with Isaiah Campbell was sent down Thursday. Horn opened this year in the White Sox organization, but after giving up 13 runs in 10 1/3 innings for Triple-A Charlotte, he was dropped from the 40-man and claimed by Boston. He immediately turned things around afterwards, posting a 1.69 ERA in 16 innings for Worcester, and now he’ll presumably get to make his major league debut at age 26.

It’ll be the major league debut for Horn, who was claimed off waivers from the White Sox at the end of April. He has a 1.69 ERA in 16 innings since joining Worcester.
