Giants optoned RHP Austin Warren to Triple-A Sacramento.
Warren is sent down to make room for Jordan Hicks (shoulder) after Hicks came off the injured list Saturday in the corresponding transaction. Warren will likely be kept in Triple-A the rest of the year as long as the San Francisco hurlers stay healthy.

  • SF Relief Pitcher #61
Giants signed RHP Austin Warren to a one-year contract.
No word yet on the financial terms of the deal. The 28-year-old right-hander was designated for assignment last week by the Angels. Warren is still in the process of recovering from Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery and isn’t expected to be ready to return until the second half of the season. Expect the Giants to soon stash him on the 60-day injured list to free up that spot on their 40-man roster once again.

Warren had Tommy John surgery in May and figures to miss the first half of the year. Some team might want to pick him up and stash him away in the hopes of a contribution later.
