Warren is sent down to make room for Jordan Hicks (shoulder) after Hicks came off the injured list Saturday in the corresponding transaction. Warren will likely be kept in Triple-A the rest of the year as long as the San Francisco hurlers stay healthy.

Warren made one appearance for the Giants last month, throwing two scoreless innings. He’ll be available in the pen tonight, and he could be a candidate to start a bullpen game Sunday.

Harrison, who has hit a career high for innings, has given up 11 runs in his last two starts and might be wearing down. We’ll probably find out later today what kind of pause this is for him.

The Giants needed to free up a spot on their active roster with Mason Black getting promoted to start on Saturday and unfortunately Warren was the odd man out this time around. Warren appeared in just one game during his brief stay with the Giants, allowing a hit and a walk over two scoreless frames. He could return when rosters expand on Sunday.
