    Tigers non-tendered OF Austin Meadows.
This move certainly doesn’t come as a surprise, and ends Meadows’ tenure with the Tigers after playing in only 42 games over his two seasons there. The 28-year-old outfielder has been away from baseball for most of the last two years while battling anxiety, and it’s unclear if he has any current plans to continue his playing career.

Tigers activated OFs Riley Greene and Austin Meadows, RHPs Casey Mize and Freddy Pacheco and LHP Tyler Alexander from the 60-day injured list.
Greene, the 23-year-old budding superstar, had his 2023 season cut short after undergoing Tommy John surgery on his non-throwing elbow in September. He’s said to be on track in his recovery though and is tentatively expected to be ready in time for Opening Day. Greene slashed .288/.349/.447 with 11 homers, 37 RBI and seven stolen bases in 416 plate appearances over 99 games during the 2023 campaign.

Tigers’ manager A.J. Hinch confirmed Saturday that Austin Meadows (anxiety) has been shut down for the remainder of the 2023 season.
The 28-year-old outfielder has been sidelined early April due to mental health reasons. He has been away from the team for the majority of that time — undergoing treatment near his home in Florida. Hopefully he continues to get the help that he needs and will be ready to contribute to the Tigers in 2024 — if he chooses to do so.

Tigers transferred OF Austin Meadows from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day injured list.
There’s still no timetable for the 27-year-old outfielder to return to the team, and now it looks like he’ll be out until at least mid-June while on the 60-day IL. This will give the Tigers a chance to utilize his spot on the 40-man roster while he takes his time to focus on his mental health.

Austin Meadows (anxiety) participated in on-field baseball activities on Friday.
Meadows joined the Tigers on Friday for a workout prior to their contest against the Giants roughly one week after being placed on the injured list to focus on his mental health. “We’ll continue to monitor his progress and see what’s next for him,” Tigers manager A.J. Hinch told reporters. “We don’t have a plan set in place, other than this is a good sign that he’s able to get back to the ballpark and get some baseball work in.”

Tigers placed OF Austin Meadows on the 10-day injured list with anxiety.
No word yet on how long Meadows will be sidelined, but he’ll get some time away from the club for mental health reasons. It’ll be Akil Baddoo coming up from Triple-A Toledo to take his spot on Detroit’s active roster. The 27-year-old outfielder is batting just .238 (5-for-21) with two RBI through six games.
