Morales gave up three runs in one-third of an inning Sunday against the Nationals before exiting with what was termed as right shoulder discomfort. The Cardinals should have an update on his status in the next day or so.

Cardinals pitching prospect Andrew Morales was lifted from Sunday’s game versus the Nationals with right shoulder discomfort.

Morales’ season ended last year at Triple-A Memphis due to a shoulder issue, so this isn’t a good sign. The former second-round pick is not on the team’s 40-man roster.
