Andre Pallante allowed four runs (three earned) in five innings and got a no-decision against the Giants on Saturday.
Pallante gave up seven hits, walked none and struck out four. He ends the season 8-8 with a 3.78 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 94 strikeouts in 121 1/3 innings. Pallante was technically a swingman this year as he made 20 starts and nine relief appearances, but it’s likely that he was good enough to earn a spot in the St. Louis rotation to start 2025.

Andre Pallante struck out four while allowing one run on one hit in a 2-1 win for the Guardians on Sunday.
Pallante allowed his only run on a safety squeeze off the bat from Austin Hedges. He took a no-hitter in the sixth in another impressive outing for the 26-year-old. In his last two starts, Pallante has gone 14 innings and allowed just that one run to see his ERA drop from 4.13 to 3.76. Pallante will make one more start before the season ends, but it seems like he’s done enough to earn a spot in the back of the St. Louis rotation to begin 2025.

The Cardinals will have Andre Pallante start Sunday against the Guardians.
This was how the rotation was initially set up, but Lance Lynn was angling to come back on Sunday for the home finale. Now that Lynn is on the IL, Pallante is the confirmed starter. Steven Matz could get a start next week in Lynn’s place.

Andre Pallante didn’t allow a run in seven innings while striking out nine in a win over the Pirates on Monday.
Pallante only gave up four hits in the contest, and he threw 68-of-100 offerings for strikes. Only one hit allowed went for extra bases, and he had the Pittsburgh hitters off-balance throughout the game in a very impressive start for the 25-year-old. Pallante was completely off fantasy radars to begin 2024, but he’s now crafted solid — if unspectacular — stats like a 3.87 ERA and 86/46 K/BB over 109 1/3 innings. You can do worse, that’s for sure.

Andre Pallante allowed three runs with six strikeouts over five innings in a loss to the Reds on Tuesday.
Pallante got off to a good start, holding the Reds scoreless through four innings before Cincinnati brought three runs in score in the fifth on two walks, two hits, and a groundout. The 25-year-old right-hander ends the day with a 4.13 ERA, 1.40 WHIP, and a 77/45 K/BB ratio across 102 1/3 innings. Pallante may move back into the bullpen with Lance Lynn (knee) returning on Wednesday.

Andre Pallante allowed five runs in five innings and took the loss against the Brewers on Monday.
Pallante gave up five hits, walked five and struck out three. He was done in by two home runs. He allowed a three-run shot to Willy Adames in the first inning and a two-run shot to Rhys Hoskins in the fourth inning. Pallante had allowed more than three earned runs in only two of his previous 10 starts. He has a 4.07 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 71 strikeouts in 97 1/3 innings on the year. The 25-year-old right-hander is set to face the Mariners at home this weekend.

Andre Pallante allowed eight hits and two runs with three strikeouts across 5 2/3 innings in a no-decision on Wednesday against the Padres.
This was a battle for Pallante. The Padres had at least one hit in every inning and there was constant traffic on the bases. It was a marvel he only allowed two runs after all the hard-contact, base runners, and inordinate number of fly balls as Pallante is usually a ground ball whiz. Alas, he was just one out short of a quality start and kept his ratios relatively in check. He has a two-start week coming up in Milwaukee and then home against the Mariners.

Andre Pallante limited the Twins to one run over seven innings to earn a victory Friday.
Pallante is yet again supposed to be bumped from the rotation with Lance Lynn due back next weekend, but he’s made an excellent case to stick around in allowing five earned runs over 19 2/3 innings in his last three outings. What seems particularly obvious is that the Cardinals had more need for Tommy Edman than they did Erick Fedde going forward.

Andre Pallante gave up two runs in seven innings to pick up a win over the Dodgers on Saturday.
Pallante gave up an RBI single in the first and a solo homer to Shohei Ohtani in the fifth. The right-hander gave up just four hits in the contest, and he walked two with five strikeouts. Pallante was solid in this one, but the question is whether he has been effective enough to stay in the rotation with Lance Lynn (knee) likely to return soon. For now, he’s scheduled to face the Twins on Friday.

Lance Lynn threw a bullpen session Monday and hopes to rejoin the Cardinals rotation soon.
Lynn, on the shelf with right knee inflammation, could return without the benefit of a rehab assignment. He’ll likely replace Andre Pallante in the rotation, even though it’s unclear whether that would be an upgrade.
