The 33-year-old Wilson is set to join Ballengee Group, which is described as a “Dallas-based athlete representation agency, to recruit and advise players.” He’ll finish his career with a 3.44 ERA over 303 appearances in the majors, the great majority of them coming with the Tigers. He had a brief stint with the Brewers last year before being released in August.

Wilson was signed to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training in January, and he struggled with a 15.43 ERA in five appearances for Detroit in spring training before the COVID-19 shutdown. It wouldn’t be a surprise if someone gave the 33-year-old a look this “spring” but it’s very unlikely he provides much value at this stage of his career.

Wilson made it into 13 games with the Brewers last year and things did not go well -- he registered a 9.53 ERA and gave up three homers and nine walks in just 11 1/3 innings. He does have a career 3.44 ERA in 303 games since 2013. He spent four seasons with the Tigers from 2015 to 2018.

Wilson had been at the Brewers’ Triple-A affiliate in San Antonio the last few months after posting a 9.53 ERA over 13 appearances with the big club. The 32-year-old will give the Cubs some relief depth.

The 32-year-old hurler appeared in just 13 games for the Brewers this season, posting an atrocious 9.53 ERA and 2.11 WHIP across 11 1/3 innings. He should be able to land on his feet elsewhere, perhaps even with the Tigers where he had a great deal of success over the last four seasons prior to 2019.

Wilson was designated for assignment on Monday after posting a 9.53 ERA over 13 relief appearances for the Brewers. He’ll try for better results at the Triple-A level and hope to get back to Milwaukee at some point.

Wilson was away for a couple days for the birth of his fourth child. He’ll return to a middle relief role.

His wife Kristin gave birth to the couple’s fourth child, a baby girl, on Wednesday. Wilson should be available out of the pen Friday against Los Angeles.

Wilson should be back with the club at some point this weekend. Jake Petricka has been called up from the minor leagues to temporarily fill the vacant spot in the Milwaukee bullpen.
