Busenitz

Busentiz became a minor league free agent at the conclusion of the season, but has opted to stick around with Cincinnati after making nine relief appearances over the past two seasons for the Reds. He’s merely emergency organizational relief depth at this advanced stage of his career.

Busenitz pitched each of the last two days, giving up three runs in three innings while mopping up in a pair of victories. He has a 13.50 ERA in three appearances for the Reds this season.

The Reds designated Busenitz for assignment less than a month ago. He cleared waivers and accepted his assignment to Triple-A. Now he’s back as bullpen depth. The club already had an open spot so no corresponding move was necessary other than sending Brandon Leibrandt to the minors. Busenitz allowed four runs (three earned) in his lone appearance for the Reds this year.

Busenitz went unclaimed on waivers after being designated for assignment over the weekend. The 34-year-old reliever has made only one appearance this season for the Reds. He’ll remain stationed at Triple-a Louisville as emergency relief depth.

The 34-year-old right-hander was promoted from Triple-A Louisville on Friday, but now finds himself out of a job after giving up four runs (three earned) on four hits in his lone inning of work with the Reds. There’s a decent chance that he’ll pass through waivers unclaimed and will continue to function as extra bullpen depth for the Reds.

Busenitz appeared in six games out of the bullpen for the Reds in 2023, but has yet to appear in a major league game this year. He had a 3.93 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 51 strikeouts in 51 innings at Triple-A this year. The 34-year-old right-hander will be another option for the Reds out of the bullpen.

Busenitz made six relief appearances this past season for the Reds before being removed from Cincinnati’s 40-man roster at the end of the year. The 33-year-old righty is back as extra organizational relief depth heading into 2024.

The 33-year-old hurler registered a solid 2.57 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and a 5/1 K/BB ratio across seven innings in six appearances with the Reds during the 2023 season. He’ll continue to function as extra bullpen depth for the Reds at the Triple-A level for the time being.

Busenitz is added back to the Reds 40-man roster for the season’s final game after passing through waivers in early September. The 30-year-old posted a 3.60 ERA, 1.80 WHIP, and 3/1 K/BB ratio across five appearances with the big league club.
