Brewers General Manager Matt Arnold said reliever Abner Uribe “should be ready to go for the start of Spring Training.”
Uribe underwent knee surgery at the beginning of July after posting a 6.91 ERA in 14.1 innings in 2024. The 24-year-old does possess high-upside raw stuff, so the Brewers will undoubtedly want him in the MLB bullpen at the start of 2025 and hope that it’s the year he can put it all together.

Abner Uribe (knee) posted on his Instagram page that he will miss the remainder of the 2024 season.
Uribe was placed on the minor league IL back at the beginning of June and underwent surgery a few weeks later. In his post, he mentioned that he is “as determined as I’ve ever been to make sure I am 100% ready for spring training 2025.”

Abner Uribe will undergo right knee surgery.
Uribe picked up a handful of saves at the outset of the year for Milwaukee before struggling to the point that he was demoted by the start of May to Triple-A Nashville. The hard-throwing 23-year-old righty is expected to undergo a surgical procedure in the coming days to repair a lateral meniscus tear in his right knee.

Abner Uribe was placed on the IL at Triple-A Nashville because of a right knee injury.
The Brewers will know more after he has an MRI next week. Uribe opened the year as the Brewers’ primary closer, but he was sent down May 1 after amassing a 6.91 ERA in 14 1/3 innings. He allowed just one run but walked seven in 8 2/3 innings in Triple-A before getting hurt.

Brewers optioned RHP Abner Uribe to Triple-A Nashville.
Uribe opened the season as the Brewers’ closer, but wound up posting a troublesome 6.91 ERA and 1.88 WHIP over 14 1/3 innings. He was also a major player in Tuesday’s scuffle with Jose Siri and the Rays, resulting in a six-game suspension that he’s appealing. He’ll try to get back on track at Triple-A.

Abner Uribe was suspended six games after a brawl with Jose Siri on Tuesday.
Uribe will reportedly appeal the six-game suspension. The 23-year-old swung at Jose Siri near first base in the eighth inning after the two players exchanged words. Uribe had to be held back by his own teammates and he was ultimately brought down to the dugout and ejected from the game. “There were some words shared that didn’t have much to do with the game that probably shouldn’t have been shared there in that exchange,” Uribe said.

Abner Uribe was charged with five runs while getting two outs Sunday against the Yankees.
This inning never should have gotten started. After Uribe walked Aaron Judge, Alex Verdugo hit a routine double-play ball, except for the fact that Judge managed to deflect the relay with his oven mitt while going into second. It should have been interference, but the umpiring crew wouldn’t make the call. Uribe went on to get Giancarlo Stanton to pop out, but he just couldn’t get the third out from there. His ERA ballooned to 6.92. There’s little doubt that it will recover, but now that he’s down to third in line for saves in Milwaukee, there isn’t much reason to roster him in mixed leagues.

Joel Payamps got the call in the ninth Wednesday and pitched a perfect inning against the Padres for his second save.
Abner Uribe worked the eighth in a scoreless game today and got the victory after the Brewers took the lead in the bottom of the inning. The two could always swap spots again, but Payamps looks like the favorite for saves in Milwaukee right now.

Abner Uribe gave up two runs in the ninth inning to pick up a blown save, but was credited with the victory Friday against the Mariners.
Uribe was tasked with protecting a two-run lead in the ninth, and he wasn’t up to said task. He allowed an RBI double to Luis Urias, and a fielder’s choice off the bat of Julio Rodriguez two batters later tied the game at 5-5. Because baseball is a fair and just sport, he still gets credit for the win because the Brewers scored in the bottom of the inning. It’s the first blown save of the year for Uribe, but he still seems likely to get the majority of save chances while Devin Williams is unavailable.

Abner Uribe fired a scoreless ninth inning on Tuesday against the Twins to record his third save of the season.
Uribe has gotten the call for three of four save opportunities for Milwaukee at the outset of the season and looks like their primary closing option with Devin Williams (back) likely sidelined until midseason. The hard-throwing 23-year-old righty issued a leadoff walk to Carlos Correa, but got a double-play ball from ensuing batter Manuel Margot and a ground out by Carlos Santana to preserve the narrow one-run victory. He certainly looks like the closer of the present for the Brewers and should be rostered in all fantasy formats until further notice.
