White Sox sent OF Micker Adolfo outright to Triple-A Charlotte.
Adolfo went unclaimed on waivers after being designated for assignment last week and will remain with the White Sox as organizational outfield depth. The 25-year-old corner outfielder, who was out of minor-league options this spring, put together a strong performance in the Cactus League, but Chicago was unable to find a trade partner. There’s a possibility he gets the call to make his big-league debut later this season.

White Sox designated OF Micker Adolfo for assignment.
The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster. It’s a tough pill to swallow for Adolfo, who actually had himself a nice spring. Perhaps he’ll draw interest elsewhere.

Micker Adolfo went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI in a losing effort against the Diamondbacks in Cactus League play on Saturday.
Adolfo smacked a three-run double off of Mark Melancon in the sixth inning, pulling the White Sox to within three runs at 7-4. The 25-year-old is having an impressive spring, hitting .429/.500/.810 with a pair of homers, nine RBI and a 9/3 K/BB ratio over 21 at-bats.

White Sox outfield prospect Micker Adolfo will undergo arthroscopic right elbow surgery and be sidelined for the remainder of 2019.
Adolfo had Tommy John surgery last July and now needs a cleanup procedure. He is expected to be ready for the beginning of next season.

White Sox’ prospect Micker Adolfo is progressing nicely in his recovery from Tommy John surgery.
Adolfo has been hitting in some capacity for the last month and has been taking live batting practice for the past five days. He should soon be cleared to serve as the designated hitter in game action. He’s expected to begin the season at Double-A.

Micker Adolfo has been diagnosed with a sprained right ulnar collateral ligament and strained flexor tendon.
Adolfo will rest and rehab for now and will miss a minimum of six weeks. If that doesn’t work and he needs Tommy John surgery, obviously his absence would be much longer. The 21-year-old is ranked by MLB.com as the team’s No. 14 prospect and was added to the 40-man roster this offseason.

White Sox OF prospect Micker Adolfo will undergo an MRI soon to check on his strained UCL and flexor tendon.
Adolfo is trying to “rest” the injury rather than undergo surgery, as going under the table would likely cause the 21-year-old to miss all of the 2018 season and could bleed into 2019. He recently told MLB.com’s Scott Merkin that he doesn’t feel strain or sore during workouts, which could be a positive sign. We should know more about Adolfo’s ETA after the MRI.

White Sox OF prospect Micker Adolfo will undergo season-ending Tommy John surgery.
The rehab from that procedure usually takes 8-10 months for a position player. Adolfo, 21, was batting .283/.368/.466 with 11 home runs and 50 RBI in 78 games this season for High-A Winston-Salem.
