Vikings RB Michael Bennett claims he is in decent shape, enough to carry the ball and be effective.
Bennett may not be 100% in time for week five. The Vikings are on a bye this week and it sounds as if Bennett really could use the extra week.
  • FA Running Back
Michael Bennett will resume practicing with the Vikings next week.
He’s out for Sunday’s game, but Bennett will return to the Minnesota lineup on October 10th.
  • FA Running Back
Michael Bennett participated in his first full-contact work since injuring his knee over a month ago.
“We’re going to make sure he wakes up (Friday) pretty sore,” coach Mike Tice said. “That’s real important for his confidence.” Bennett felt fine after the workout and remains on track for week six. With Onterrio Smith still available, don’t expect a ton of carries right away.
  • FA Running Back
Michael Bennett will not start at running back for the Vikings until October 10th at the earliest.
“That’s the way I see it now,” coach Mike Tice said. The Vikings are targeting a week two or week three return for Bennett, but he’ll likely come off the bench initially. It sounds very possible that Bennett will completely miss the first three games, then rest during Minnesota’s bye week. Continue to downgrade Bennett. This looks a lot like last year.
  • FA Running Back
According to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, Vikings officials believe it’s likely Michael Bennett will miss the first two games of the season.
Publically, the Vikings are calling Bennett questionable for Week 1. Since that may not be the case, Moe Williams could be a nice pick at the end of drafts.
  • FA Running Back
Michael Bennett, out with a knee injury, may not return to the Vikings until week five.
We’ve posted this before, but it’s more certain now. This has everything to do with Onterrio Smith’s suspension being delayed. We doubt Bennett will play as long as Smith is eligible to play. The Vikings have a bye in week four.
  • FA Running Back
Michael Bennett should be eased into action this week at running back.
“We’ll nurse Mike along a little bit, a couple carries, a couple blocks, not try to do too much,” said head coach Mike Tice.
  • FA Running Back
The Vikings believe Michael Bennett’s latest knee surgery will help his explosiveness in the long run.
We’ll see. Bennett reportedly looked great at practice Thursday and will be ready to play in week seven. We wouldn’t expect him to carry the ball as much as a normal starter, though.
  • FA Running Back
Michael Bennett is expected to earn five to seven carries in his season debut on Sunday.
Bennett, listed as questionable with a knee injury, practiced without incident Wednesday. He’s not worth using in fantasy leagues while Mewelde Moore remains the starter.
  • FA Running Back
Michael Bennett will miss at least two more games after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee.
Onterrio Smith will get the week five start, but he’s expected to begin serving his suspension after that. Considering the consistent knee problems Bennett has had, we’re beginning to wonder if he’ll ever be a true primary running back.
