  • NBA Power Forward #30
Shams Charania of The Athletic reported on Sunday that Michael Beasley will sign a seven-figure deal with the Shanghai Sharks.
Beasley played for Brooklyn in the bubble and for Portland during Summer League, but he hasn’t played for a team since then. He’ll make his return to professional basketball for the Sharks, which could eventually lead to a return to the NBA. However, even if that happens, he won’t have an impact in fantasy hoops.

The Portland Trail Blazers are interested in Michael Beasley as well as James Ennis, Isaiah Hartenstein, & Patrick Patterson according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
Beasley is a former No. 2 overall pick in the NBA Draft who has 11 seasons of NBA experience and has played in over 600 NBA games. He has not played in the NBA since suiting up for 26 games with the Lakers in the 2018-2019 season. According to Scotto, The Clippers, as well as the Blazers are in the mix for Isaiah Hartenstein, and James Ennis has drawn interest from the Bulls, Magic, and Lakers as well. Portland is looking to add some depth at the forward spot, so it will be interesting to see which direction they end up going.

Michael Beasley will suit up for the Trail Blazers’ Summer League team in Las Vegas.
Maybe Beasley will be able to play himself into a training camp invite, and from there it’s possible he could snag a minimum level deal, but he’s well past his days of relevancy in fantasy hoops.

Former NBA player Michael Beasley has signed to play in the G League and will be in the league’s draft on Monday night.
Beasley is a former No. 2 overall pick for the Heat in the 2008 draft but Beasley’s career never really came together. Maybe he’ll get another shot at the NBA later this season.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Michael Beasley will not rejoin the Nets in Orlando after testing positive for COVID-19.
Beasley was sent home to self-quarantine after testing positive for the virus, and now his run with the team has come to an end. Brooklyn can sign a replacement player, and Charania reported that Justin Anderson remains a candidate for the open roster spot. Anderson appeared in three games for the Nets prior to being waived in January, with his most recent action coming in a January 12 win over the Hawks.

Michael Beasley has tested positive for COVID-19 and has been sent home to self-quarantine.
Beasley’s roster spot with the Nets is now in jeopardy, so it’ll be interesting to see how this all shakes out. The Nets are losing yet another forward with Beasley becoming the eighth Brooklyn player to test positive, which further complicates their frontcourt situation.

    Nets sign F Michael Beasley.
He’s signed for the Orlando restart as a substitute player, but he will be suspended for the first five games. According to Shams Charania, Beasley has a strong relationship with Kevin Durant, so that factor could help Beasley get a shot at significant minutes. Considering how thin the Nets are up front, Beasley should play decent minutes at the four and may even log center minutes in some matchups. Once his suspension is up, his arrival really cuts into Rodions Kurucs’ minutes while Justin Anderson and Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot also take a hit. Beasley figures to be a DFS option once he’s active.

Michael Beasley is moving toward a deal with the Brooklyn Nets, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Just hours after the Nets reportedly added Jamal Crawford, they look to have their second substitute player lined up to help fill the minutes left by the seven inactive players. Beasley would be in a fantastic spot with the Nets, and he’d certainly cut into Rodions Kurucs’ minutes. Although, he will have to serve a five-game suspension, so Kurucs should still be busy to kick off the restart.

According to Sportando, the CBA has informed the Shanxi Loongs that Michael Beasley is banned from registering in China due to his five-game suspension for a violation of the NBA’s anti-drug policy.
A little over a month after he agreed to a one-year, non-guaranteed deal with the Pistons, Beasley was waived as the team needed to make room for Joe Johnson. The expectation then was that he would play in China, with Shanxi showing serious interest. But those plans appear to have been scuttled due to the CBA’s ruling. What’s next for Beasley is unknown at this point.

Beasley had a tentative agreement to sign with the Pistons back in August, but Detroit decided to sign Joe Johnson instead. As a result, Beasley may spend the season overseas.
