Four of Seton Hall’s defeats this season have come down to the final possession, and while Sunday’s game was another close one, the team’s offensive struggles remain a significant issue. Sophomore guard Isaiah Coleman has continued to shine amid the losing streak. Named to last season’s Big East All-Freshman team, he has averaged 20 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.5 steals per game over the last four games.
Xavier:
After finishing 16-18 last season and experiencing their first losing record since 1995-1996, the Musketeers seemed primed for a comeback. The team opened the season 6-0 but has since dropped five of its last seven games, including three straight losses to No. 22 Cincinnati, No. 11 UConn, and No. 9 Marquette.
Forward Zach Freemantle and guard Ryan Conwell have been standouts for the Musketeers this season. Freemantle currently leads the team in rebounds with 7.7 per game and is averaging a career-high 19 points per game, while Conwell is second on the team with 16.2 points per game.
