George signed a minor league contract with the Rockies during the offseason to convert to catcher this season and was released after mustering just one hit in 18 at-bats for Double-A Hartford.

George, who has recently transitioned from shortstop to catcher, provides the Rockies with some additional minor-league infield depth. The 25-year-old middle infielder hit a meager .191/.336/.377 with nine homers and 11 stolen bases across 245 plate appearances at Double-A Hartford last season.
