Although Cundiff had a strong season a year ago, he has struggled in training camp. Bryant, meanwhile, has caught Bill Parcells’ attention, and Parcells compared him to his former Giant kicker Matt Bahr.

They may also try out Bill Gramatica. Olindo Mare is unlikely to play because of a strained calf.

He’ll fill-in as the Dolphins kicker until Olindo Mare recovers from a strained calf muscle. He’s not much of a fantasy option.

Olindo Mare continues to be bothered by calf troubles.

Just when things were looking brighter for the Dolphins, more troubles surface. Olindo Mare still isn’t ready to return, so if Bryant also can’t go, their options would be to force a wounded Mare into service, go with emergency kicker Wes Welker, or sign a free agent kicker today.

Bryant will compete with Billy Cundiff for the starting job. He’s a heavy underdog.

Which it appears he’s doing. Todd France has out kicked him thus far in camp.

Brought back on a $3 million contract after Giorgio Tavecchio and Blair Walsh combined to go 9-for-18 on field goal tries this preseason, Bryant went 9-for-14 (including two misses from 51 and 53 yards out this past Sunday) before the Falcons decidedly moved on. The team signed Younghoe Koo following his workout on Monday. Bryant was 259-of-296 on field goal attempts as a Falcon.

Bryant was released in February and went unsigned through training camp. The Falcons didn’t like what they saw from Giorgio Tavecchio and Blair Walsh this preseason, so they’re turning back to Bryant. Injuries forced Bryant to miss three games last year, but he was solid when healthy — converting 95 percent of his field goals. Bryant’s range from 50-plus yards has declined, but he gives the Falcons a reliable kicker.

Bryant went unsigned after getting released by Atlanta in February. The Falcons have Giorgio Tavecchio and Blair Walsh on their roster, but both have struggled this preseason. It won’t be surprising if they decide to re-sign Bryant.
