Bills selected Oregon OG Mark Asper with the No. 178 overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft.
Asper started three years with the Ducks at right tackle and right guard. The Bills announced him as a guard, so he’s likely to stay on the interior. Although Asper is a large, strong blocker at 6'6" and 320 pounds, he’s limited athletically and shows questionable footwork. He’ll have to battle for a roster spot.

The Bills will use sixth-round pick Mark Asper at center.
“We wanted to get another center,” GM Buddy Nix said. “This old boy is as big as a house. He can play center and guard.” Asper (6'6/321) played guard and tackle in college, but held his own at center in a pre-draft all-star game. He’ll vie for a backup swing role behind Eric Wood, Chad Rinehart, and Kraig Urbik.

Jaguars claimed OL Mark Asper and TE Allen Reisner off waivers from the Vikings.
The Bills, Eagles and Bucs also put in a claim for Asper. He didn’t play a single snap with the Vikings this year, but will provide depth behind Brad Meester if active on Sunday. Reisner made a brief appearance filling in for John Carlson earlier this season.
