Tidjane Salaun (ankle) and Marcus Garrett (away from team) will not play in Friday’s game against the Thunder.
Garrett is on a 10-day contract and may have already played his last game with Charlotte, and Salaun hasn’t played since March 8. Charlotte will be sorely shorthanded in this one, so the Hornets’ available players will be forced to handle additional minutes.
  • CHA Small Forward #28
Marcus Garrett (back) has been ruled out against the Knicks on Thursday.
Garrett has played well on his 10-day contract, but there will be some extra minutes off the bench available for Wendell Moore Jr. and Seth Curry. The final game of Garrett’s contract will be on Friday, unless they opt to sign him to a second 10-day deal.
  • CHA Small Forward #28
Marcus Garrett (back) is questionable for Thursday’s game against the Knicks.
Garrett, who agreed to a 10-day contract on March 12, is dealing with a lower back issue. He was solid in 24 minutes against the Hawks on Tuesday, but that was with Miles Bridges unavailable. If Bridges can play against the Knicks, Garrett’s chances of getting the minutes needed to impact fantasy basketball are slim.
  • CHA Small Forward #28
Marcus Garrett (back) is available for Tuesday’s game against the Hawks.
With LaMelo Ball and Miles Bridges ruled out for Tuesday’s game, Garrett should play rotation minutes against the Hawks. He isn’t worth the risk in standard leagues, but deep-league managers may view Tuesday’s light schedule as a reason to stream Garrett.
  • CHA Small Forward #0
Miles Bridges (rest) has been ruled out against the Hawks on Tuesday.
Bridges has produced at a high level for Charlotte recently, but they’ll give him the night off against Atlanta. Marcus Garrett, Nick Smith Jr. and Wendell Moore Jr. are all candidates to fill out the open spot in the starting lineup.
  • CHA Point Guard #1
LaMelo Ball (wrist) and Marcus Garrett (back) are probable for Tuesday’s game against the Hawks.
Ball has been dealing with a sore right wrist but has been active for the Hornets’ last four games. The probable tag suggests he will be able to play against the Hawks. If LaMelo cannot play, Nick Smith Jr. and Seth Curry may pick up additional minutes. Garrett’s availability does not impact fantasy basketball.
  • CHA Small Forward #28
The Heat have waived Marcus Garrett, Jamaree, Bouyea, Mychal Mulder, and Orlando Robinson.
Garrett was on a two-way contract but suffered a fractured right wrist earlier this week. His two-way slot is being filled by guard Dru Smith, who played very well for the Heat during the preseason. Garrett, Bouyea, and Robinson could all be headed to the G League to play for Miami’s affiliate in Sioux Falls. Mulder could be as well, as the Heat only signed him on October 9.

  • MIA Shooting Guard #12
The Heat have extended a two-way contract to Dru Smith, who was originally just a camp invitee.
It’s a cool story for Smith and the Heat also announced they have waived Marcus Garrett, Jamaree Bouyea, Orlando Robinson and Mychal Mulder.

  • CHA Small Forward #28
Marcus Garrett (fractured right wrist) will be sidelined for at least four weeks.
Garrett suffered a similar injury last season, and Miami ended up releasing him. It’s possible that he suffers a similar fate, since he’s only on a two-way deal. Either way, this isn’t impacting fantasy hoops.

  • Point Guard #15
The Heat have waived Javonte Smart and Mychal Mulder, who were on two-way contracts.
Smart hit just 8-of-26 shots in Wednesday’s Summer League game, which probably didn’t help his cause. They also added Marcus Garrett on a two-way deal.
