  • TB Safety #39
Former Alabama junior DB Marcus Banks has entered the transfer portal the team announced.
Banks (6'0/186) was a four-star recruit from the 2019 class, but has been lightly used by the Crimson Tide since joining the team. Per Pro Football Focus, Banks has logged 120 defensive snaps in three seasons, with 74 of those snaps coming in four games this season. For his career, Banks has totaled six total tackles, and one interception. Banks was regarded as the 13th best cornerback of the 2019 recruiting class, and could draw a lot of offers in the coming weeks. Prior to committing to Alabama, Banks had also received offers from Florida, Florida State, LSU and Texas A&M.

Four-star 2019 CB Marcus Banks verbally committed to attend Alabama during Saturday’s U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
Banks (6'0/170), formerly an LSU commit, backed off of that pledge during the fall. The Spring, Texas native picked the reigning national champions over Florida, Florida State and Texas A&M. Alabama assistant Jeff Banks (no relation), who was hired from Texas A&M, was one of the key players in Marcus Banks’ recruitment due to his connections to the state. Alabama’s been able to make some inroads in Texas in recent years, with this recruitment being the latest example of that.
