The Wizards have requested waivers on Makur Maker.
Maker inked a training camp deal with Washington back in August, and he’ll now likely head to the Wizards’ G League affiliate.

Makur Maker has signed a training camp deal with the Wizards.
Undrafted back in 2020, Maker last played for the Sydney Kings in the NBL where he averaged 7.8 points, 6.0 rebounds and 0.8 triples in 16.8 minutes per game. Maker’s deal with the Wizards is an exhibition 10 contract, so he’s expected to become a member of Washington’s G League team.

Australian PF/C Makur Maker will enter the 2020 NBA Draft.
Maker is just shy of seven feet tall, but he has intriguing perimeter skills and speed for his size. He recently played in the AAU for Dream Vision, where he averaged 14.7 points, 7.9 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in 26.0 minutes. It’s unclear where he might land on draft day, especially since teams may not be able to evaluate him in person. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on him, especially in dynasty formats.

Makur Maker has reportedly been declared eligible for the 2020 NBA Draft according to 247Sports’ Evan Daniels.
Maker, the cousin of Pistons power forward Thon Maker, is strongly considering the possibility of entering the draft according to his guardian, Ed Smith. A decision isn’t expected to be made until late-spring, but he does not plan to play in any more games at Hillcrest Academy this season. Per Smith, Maker is expected to play in the Iverson Classic All-Star Game and the Nike Hoop Summit this spring. The 6-foot-11 power forward/center is an interesting case in the 2020 draft class should be declare, given the uncertainty in the lottery. Maker’s play in the Hoop Summit will likely go a long way towards determining his draft prospects for this summer.
