Free agent TE Luke Willson is retiring after eight seasons.
Willson, 31, signed with the Seahawks Tuesday but after one practice decided he’s not in it anymore and is hanging up the cleats. The 2013 fifth-rounder of Seattle appeared in 102 career games with the Seahawks, Ravens, and Lions, catching 111 passes for 1,307 yards and 11 touchdowns.

  • FA Tight End #82
Seahawks agreed to terms with TE Luke Willson.
The signing is expected to become official Tuesday afternoon. It is Willson’s third tour of duty with the team that drafted him in 2013. He will be on the outside looking in of a 53-man roster spot.

  • FA Tight End #82
Free agent TE Luke Willson will work out for the Seahawks.
Willson finished the 2020 season with Baltimore after being released by the Seahawks in November. Despite Seattle changing offensive coordinators, Willson will still be more familiar with Seattle’s offense than the average free agent. He has played 85 career games for the Seahawks since 2013.

  • FA Tight End #82
Ravens declared TE Luke Willson, CB Tramon Williams, CB Anthony Averett, OLB Jaylon Ferguson, C Trsytan Colin-Castillo, and DT Broderick Washington inactive for Week 14 against the Browns.
The Ravens are finally healthy again after their COVID outbreak a couple weeks back.

  • FA Tight End #82
Free agent TE Luke Willson had a tryout with the Ravens.
Willson was released from Seattle last week. The 30-year-old would slot in as the No. 3 tight end behind Mark Andrews and Nick Boyle in Baltimore.

  • LAR Tight End #86
Seahawks activated TE Colby Parkinson (foot) from the reserve/NFI list.
Veteran TE Luke Willson has been released in a corresponding roster move. Parkinson broke his foot in June. The No. 133 overall pick of the draft, mountainous 6-foot-7 Parkinson offers future upside, but there simply will not be targets for the taking behind Greg Olsen, Jacob Hollister and Will Dissly.

  • FA Tight End #82
Seahawks declared CB Quinton Dunbar, CB Neiko Thorpe, S Lano Hill, G/C Kyle Fuller, OT Cedric Ogbuehi, and TE Luke Willson as inactive for Week 3 against the Cowboys.
No surprises here. This game will be the best of the Sunday slate as the total climbed well over 50 points. Willson isn’t involved in the offense with Greg Olsen and Will Dissly firmly ahead.

  • FA Tight End #82
    Seahawks re-signed TE Luke Willson.
Willson admittedly never amounted to much — 8/79 receiving over eight regular season games — before the Hawks activated Jacob Hollister from their practice squad mid-season. His negotiation is a feisty one considering Seattle is rich with tight ends in Greg Olsen, Will Dissly, and Hollister in 2020. Willson will primarily block and play special teams next year.
  • FA Tight End #82
Free agent Luke Willson visited the Raiders.
Willson made eight starts in a nondescript 2018 for the Lions. With Jared Cook gone, he would give the Raiders a veteran to compete with Darren Waller.
  • FA Tight End #82
Raiders signed TE Luke Willson, formerly of the Lions.
Willson gives Oakland a veteran to pair with Darren Waller. He has some red-zone skills but should see most of his snaps as a blocker. Even with the Willson signing, the Raiders figure to add a tight end in the draft.
