According to MLB Network’s Jon Morosi, the Mariners signed RHP Luke Barker to a minor league deal and assigned him to Triple-A Tacoma.
The 32-year-old Barker missed all of 2023 while rehabbing from Tommy John surgery. He debuted with the Brewers in 2022 and allowed five runs in four innings before suffering a UCL injury and then being released by the Brewers in August of that year. He has a career 2.32 ERA as a reliever at Triple-A and figures to operate as organizational depth for Seattle.

Barker revealed the news himself on Twitter, adding that he found out he was being released just hours after having Tommy John surgery. The Brewers offered to re-sign him to a minor league deal, but Barker has decided to test out free agency. Barker made his major league debut this season at 30 years of age.

Brewers optioned RHP Luke Barker to Triple-A Nashville.
Barker has allowed five runs on seven hits, including a pair of home runs, with a 3/0 K/BB ratio across four innings (three appearances) this season at the major-league level. The 30-year-old rookie right-hander will head back to the minors until the Brewers need some extra relief depth.

Brewers recalled RHP Luke Barker from Triple-A Nashville.
It’s the second time that he has been recalled by the big league club this week, though he was sent back down the first time before appearing in a game. Surely, the 30-year-old hurler will get a chance to make his MLB debut this time around.

The 30-year-old hurler was sent down to make room on the active roster for Jason Alexander -- the Brewers starter on Wednesday. He did not appear in a game during his brief time with the big league club. His MLB debut will have to wait until later in the season.

Brewers purchased the contract of RHP Luke Barker from Triple-A Nashville.
Barker is an undrafted 30-year-old who will be making his first trip to the majors. Pretty cool. He earned a shot by posting a 3.79 ERA and 19/8 K/BB ratio over 19 innings at Nashville.
