    Nationals released RHP Luis Perdomo.
The Nationals have decided to let Perdomo go to pursue an opportunity elsewhere after he was reassigned to minor league camp earlier this week. The 30-year-old righty spent last year pitching overseas for the Chiba Lotte Marines of Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball.
  • WAS Starting Pitcher #79
Nationals optioned RHP Jackson Rutledge to Triple-A Rochester; reassigned RHPs Luis Perdomo and Robert Gsellman, 1B Lewin Diaz, C Brady Lindsly and INF Darren Baker to minor league camp.
Rutledge, 24, made four starts for the Nationals during the 2023 season, registering a 6.75 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and a 12/6 K/BB ratio across 20 innings of work. He was always a longshot to crack the team’s Opening Day roster though. Rutledge posted a 3.86 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and a 7/5 K/BB ratio over seven innings during Grapefruit League play.
  • WAS Relief Pitcher #46
Nationals signed RHP Luis Perdomo to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Perdomo spent last year pitching overseas for the Chiba Lotte Marines of Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball. The 30-year-old righty made 14 relief appearances for the Brewers during the 2022 campaign. He’ll be vying for a spot in Washington’s season-opening bullpen in Grapefruit League action.
  • FA Starting Pitcher #56
Luis Perdomo has signed with the Chiba Lotte Marines of Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball.
Perdomo will take his talents to Japan this upcoming season after being non-tendered by the Brewers in November. The 29-year-old righty missed the 2021 campaign recovering from Tommy John surgery and wound up making 14 relief appearances last season for Milwaukee. He’ll aim to rebuild his long-term value overseas in 2023.

  • FA Starting Pitcher #56
    Brewers non-tendered RHP Luis Perdomo.
Perdomo missed 2021 following Tommy John surgery and had another round of elbow problems this year, but he did get into 14 games for the Brewers, finishing with a 3.80 ERA in 23 2/3 innings. If he can stay healthy, he could be rather useful as a groundball-producing, inning-eating middle reliever.

  • FA Starting Pitcher #56
Brewers placed RHP Luis Perdomo on the 15-day injured list with a right calf strain.
The move is retroactive to September 24. With Perdomo on the injured list, it clears a spot on the active roster for Freddy Peralta, who returns for his start against the Brewers on Sunday. Perdomo posted a 3.80 ERA across 23 2/3 innings in relief for Milwaukee this season.

  • FA Starting Pitcher #56
Luis Perdomo allowed one run over three frames and was credited with a victory Tuesday as the Brewers beat the Cardinals 8-4.
Opener Matt Bush lasted just one-third of an inning before exiting with an injury. Perdomo was the third of eight pitchers manager Craig Counsell used and he gave the most length, needing just 35 pitches to cover his three frames.

  • FA Relief Pitcher #49
Matt Bush will serve as an opener for the Brewers on Tuesday in St. Louis.
Corbin Burnes would be on regular rest Tuesday, but the Brewers have elected to give him an extra day and start him Wednesday. Brent Suter and Luis Perdomo will both be on three days of rest Tuesday, so they’re candidates for bulk innings.

  • FA Starting Pitcher #56
Brewers recalled RHP Luis Perdomo from Triple-A Nashville.
Perdomo has been solid in his limited time with the Brewers this year with a 1.74 WHIP and 1.07 WHIP over 10 1/3 innings in seven appearances. He’ll be a middle-innings option while with the Brew Crew.

  • FA Starting Pitcher #56
Brewers activated RHP Luis Perdomo from the 15-day injured list; optioned him to Triple-A Nashville.
Perdomo has been out since late May due to a right elbow effusion and will remain at Triple-A Nashville as extra organizational relief depth.
