The fullback position no longer exists in Dallas.
The Cowboys will go with a two-tight end set this season. Lousaka Polite worked at halfback and tight end Saturday.
  • FA Running Back #45
    Patriots released FB Lousaka Polite.
The writing was on the wall for the 30-year-old after New England came to terms with Tony Fiammetta earlier today, after also signing Spencer Larsen. Polite was a late season addition for New England in 2011, playing only 24 snaps.
  • FA Running Back #45
    Patriots signed FB Lousaka Polite.
Donald Thomas, who had been playing fullback in some packages, will be needed at guard with Logan Mankins (MCL sprain) out for the season finale. The Pats don’t use a lead-blocker on most plays, so Polite’s role will be limited.
  • FA Running Back #45
Falcons signed FB Lousaka Polite and TE Chase Coffman.
Polite will compete with Mike Cox for lead-blocking duties after fifth-round rookie Bradie Ewing was lost for the season on Friday. An on-again, off-again starter for the Dolphins from 2008-10, Polite played just 24 snaps for the Patriots in 2011. A third-round pick of the Bengals in 2009, Coffman has appeared in just six career games, all of which came in 2010.
  • FA Running Back #45
Falcons declared FB Lousaka Polite, QB Dominique Davis, CB Chris Owens, RB Antone Smith, OT Lamar Holmes, TE Michael Palmer and DE Jonathan Massaquoi inactive for Week 4 versus the Panthers.
Jason Snelling will take over lead-blocking duties with Polite out. It remains a good matchup for Michael Turner.
  • FA Running Back #45
Falcons released FB Lousaka Polite and signed FB Mike Cox.
Polite beat out Cox in training camp. Now we’re eight games in and the staff is making a switch. Neither lead-blocker can resurrect Michael Turner’s burst.
  • FA Running Back #45
Cowboys signed FB Lousaka Polite off their practice squad.
  • FA Running Back #45
The Patriots worked out free agent FBs Lousaka Polite and Charles Scott Tuesday.
New England also worked out free agent TE Jake O’Connell. The Patriots don’t typically use a roster spot on a fullback, so this is likely a case of due diligence more than anything else. It probably doesn’t hurt that Polite spent the past three seasons with division rival Miami.
  • FA Running Back #45
    Bears signed FB Lousaka Polite.
The former Cowboy will back up Jason McKie at fullback, at least until Obafemi Ayanbadejo is off suspension.
  • FA Running Back #45
Cowboys released FB Lousaka Polite, LB Junior Glymph, C Matt Tarullo, WR Mike Jefferson, WR Damarius Bilbo, CB Joey Thomas, RB Alonzo Coleman, RB Arliss Beach, CB Quincy Butler, TE Rodney Hannah, LB Blair Phillips, G Trey Darilek, NT Remi Ayodele, DE Marcus Smith, QB Matt Moore, QB Richard Bartel, TE Adam Bergen, LB John Saldi, LB Khari Long and WR Jerheme Urban.
Aaron Glenn was the only big surprise in Dallas. Isiah Stanbeck made the team at receiver.
