Coleman made 61 appearances with the Dodgers last season, but he has pitched exclusively in the minors this year. The 31-year-old has put up a 2.25 ERA over 50 appearances in Triple-A between the Reds and the D-Backs, but he didn’t earn a shot in the majors.

Coleman posted a 5.93 ERA across 12 relief appearances at Triple-A Syracuse. The 33-year-old will look for another minor league deal elsewhere.

Coleman had a 3.51 ERA in 51 1/3 innings for the Tigers last season. That’s also his career ERA in 264 appearances over the last eight years. He’ll have to compete to retain his bullpen spot.

Coleman was outrighted to Triple-A by the Tigers on Wednesday despite posting a solid 3.51 ERA across 51 1/3 innings of relief in 2018. The 32-year-old right-hander might be able to find himself a guaranteed major league contract on the open market this winter.

Coleman was thought to be a lock for a bullpen spot at the start of spring training, but he allowed 14 hits and six earned runs in 9 2/3 innings in the Cactus League.

A fifth-round pick in 2009, Coleman will serve as a right-handed specialist out of the Kansas City bullpen. He’ll likely be sent back to Triple-A when Lorenzo Cain (groin) returns from the disabled list.

Coleman made seven appearances with the Royals, primarily as a right-handed specialist. While he doesn’t offer much in the way of upside, it’s not unrealistic to think he could reappear in the majors at some point this season.

The move clears the way for Irving Falu to be added to the active roster. Coleman gave up five runs over two innings in his most recent appearance on Monday and has a 4.91 ERA and 23/13 K/BB ratio over 22 innings with the Royals this season. He’ll likely be back at some point this summer.

He was cleared to make room for Jonathan Sanchez’s return from the disabled list. Coleman has a 3.15 ERA and 18/12 K/BB ratio in 20 innings with the Royals this season. He figures to return to the majors later this summer.
