Free agent DL Lorenzo Washington has been suspended four games.
We’re not quite yet sure what the suspension is for, but a good guess would be that Washington violated the league’s policy on performance-enhancing substances. Washington, a member of Alabama’s 2009 national championship team, has bounced around the league since 2010. He was last with Detroit this preseason.
  • FA Wide Receiver #18
Jets signed WR Logan Payne, DE Lorenzo Washington, LB Brian Toal, CB Richard Taylor, and DT Matt Kroul to reserve/future contracts.
The Jets announced 18 futures additions Wednesday, but we already posted a number of them. Payne has bounced around since going undrafted in 2007. Toal played collegiately at Boston College. Kroul is an undersized nose.
  • FA Defensive Lineman #63
    Cowboys signed DT Jimmy Saddler-McQueen.
Saddler-McQueen will provide line depth for the somewhat injury-depleted Cowboys. Lorenzo Washington was released to make room on the roster.
  • FA Defensive Lineman #73
Cowboys waived DE Lorenzo Washington and K/P Delbert Alvarado.
Washington, an undrafted free agent out of Alabama, was a victim of poor timing. He was dealing with a hamstring injury when the Cowboys needed healthy bodies on the defensive line.
  • FA Defensive Lineman #73
Cowboys placed DE Lorenzo Washington (hamstring) on the active/PUP list.
Washington was signed as an undrafted free agent out of Alabama. He’ll need to get on the field asap in order to have a shot at making the team.
