Logan Ondrusek has signed with the Uni-Lions of Taiwan’s Chinese Professional Baseball League.
Ondrusek split the 2021 campaign between Triple-A Sacramento in the Giants’ minor-league system and the Leones de Yucatan in the Mexican League. The soon-to-be 37-year-old right-hander last appeared in the majors with the Orioles back in 2016.

Giants signed RHP Logan Ondrusek to a minor-league contract.
The Giants plucked Ondrusek out of the Mexican League where he made eight appearances this season. The 36-year-old righty last appeared in the majors with the Orioles. He’ll serve as organizational relief depth.

  • INT Relief Pitcher #51
Nationals signed RHP Logan Ondrusek to a minor league contract.
Ondrusek has logged just 6 1/3 innings at the major league level since 2014, and he’ll probably work purely as minor league bullpen depth with the Nats. The 33-year-old right-hander pitched well last summer in independent ball.
  • CIN Relief Pitcher
Sean Marshall was pulled out of a save opportunity after giving up a run in the ninth inning against the Brewers on Wednesday.
After taking over in a 2-0 game, Marshall gave up a solo homer to Ryan Braun and then two more hits. He ended up throwing 35 pitches to get just two outs. Still, he was taken out with the lead intact, and he ended up with the hold after Logan Ondrusek retired pinch-hitter Travis Ishikawa to end the game. Marshall’s job as Cincinnati’s closer is still safe.
  • INT Relief Pitcher #51
Logan Ondrusek has been nursing a sore back but was able to appear in Saturday’s game.
He recorded one out and walked a batter in the appearance. “He’s getting better daily,” Reds manager Dusty Baker said. “We tried to stay away from him (Thursday), which we were able to do. I haven’t heard from my trainers. No news is good news.”
  • INT Relief Pitcher #51
Reds optioned RHP Logan Ondrusek to Triple-A Louisville.
He was sent down in order to make room for Dioner Navarro on the roster. Ondrusek has a solid 3.50 ERA in 53 appearances this year, but he has allowed five runs over 6 2/3 innings this month. He should return when rosters expand in September.
  • INT Relief Pitcher #51
Reds recalled RHP Logan Ondrusek from Triple-A Louisville.
The Reds are recalling Didi Gregorius, Denis Phipps and Henry Rodriguez in their first round of September callups. Devin Mesoraco will be activated Sunday, while Pedro Villarreal and Todd Redmond will be promoted Tuesday.
  • INT Relief Pitcher #51
Logan Ondrusek gave up his first five runs of the season in a loss to the Mets on Thursday.
Aroldis Chapman also allowed his first run, though in his case it was unearned. Ondrusek had pitched 15 1/3 scoreless innings this season before getting lit up today. Even after allowing five runs, his ERA stands at 2.76.
  • NYM Catcher #29
Devin Mesoraco, Mike Leake and Logan Ondrusek are the notable names absent from the Reds’ NLDS roster.
Mesoraco was expected to be left off, with Dioner Navarro surpassing him as the primary backup to Ryan Hanigan down the stretch. Leake pitched inconsistently during the regular season, and couldn’t beat Homer Bailey or Bronson Arroyo for either of the final rotation spots.
  • INT Relief Pitcher #51
Reds optioned RHP Logan Ondrusek to Triple-A Louisville.
The Reds need bullpen depth after going through four relievers in Friday’s loss. Curtis Partch has been called up to replace Ondrusek on the active roster.
