Primarily a special teams and inline blocking tight end throughout his career, Smith, 34, walks away after 149 combined appearances with the Bills, Raiders, and Falcons. He netted a career $23.6 million in earnings over 11 years in the league.

Blocking specialist Lee has played a third of the offensive snaps this season.

Smith’s TD reception was a critical score in the Falcons’ Week 3 win. For fantasy purposes it was notable primarily because it was a tight end touchdown that did not go to Kyle Pitts. Smith can continue to be left on the waiver wire.

Smith is labeled as a tight end, but he’s essentially a third offensive tackle when he takes the field. The 34-year-old will be Arthur Smith’s run-blocking tight end while Hayden Hurst operates as the pass-catcher. Smith getting traded is a surprise, but the move does free up $2.25 million for Buffalo.

Smith is a blocking tight end whose addition would bode well for Latavius Murray. Schefter also reports the Raiders are hosting Jermaine Gresham today.

A 31-year-old blocking tight end, Smith caught 10 balls in 2018. His fate was sealed when the Raiders selected fellow blocker Foster Moreau in the fourth round. Despite his advancing age, Smith is a solid enough blocker that he will likely earn another look elsewhere.

He’s out indefinitely with a broken leg. The Raiders just signed Ryan O’Malley off the practice squad and are working out Rob Housler. With Smith sidelined and Clive Walford’s status up in the air, Oakland has become extremely thin at tight end.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports the injury “threatens his season.” A great blocker, Smith’s loss would be a blow to the running game.

Scheduled to make $2.75 million, Smith has agreed to a $1 million base salary and $1 million roster bonus. A pure blocker, Smith has 38 career catches, and was limited to four games by a broken leg last season.

27-year-old Smith is one of the top pure blocking tight ends in football. The Raiders remain in pursuit of free agent Jermaine Gresham, another plus blocker. Combined with the addition of C Rodney Hudson, the Raiders are gearing up to play smash-mouth offense under new coordinator Bill Musgrave.
