According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Kings plan to waive KZ Okpala.
Okpala, who has been dealing with bilateral knee soreness, plans to undergo season-ending knee surgery. Since he won’t be available to play, the Kings are freeing up that roster spot, which will go to PJ Dozier. Dozier, who’s currently on a 10-day contract, will be signed for the remainder of the season. This roster change will not impact fantasy basketball, as neither player has been in the rotation.

KZ Okpala (bilateral knee soreness) officially ruled out for Thursday’s game against the Trail Blazers.
Okpala will once again miss action because of a knee injury. Due to Okpala being out of the rotation his absence does not pose an impact to fantasy managers.

KZ Okpala (bilateral knee soreness) has been ruled out for Tuesday’s game against the Suns.
Okpala has been ruled out for Sacramento’s final game before the All-Star break. He hasn’t been in the rotation when healthy, so his absence will not impact fantasy basketball.

KZ Okpala (bilateral knee soreness) has been ruled out for Friday’s game against the Mavericks.
Okpala has been recalled from the Kings’ G League affiliate but will not be available to play due to his knee issue. This will not impact fantasy basketball, as Okpala has not been in the rotation most nights.

  • Shooting Guard #30
Terence Davis is listed as questionable for Friday’s matchup with the Thunder due to a non-COVID illness.
The Kings are currently in the midst of a bug going around. Domantas Sabonis (illness), Alex Len (illness), and Matthew Dellavedova (illness) were back on the practice floor Friday, but Davis is now battling the same non-COVID illness they have. His absence would not significantly impact fantasy basketball, as Kevin Huerter and Malik Monk are healthy.

  • SAC Power Forward #41
Trey Lyles (right calf contusion) will be available to play against the Jazz on Friday.
Lyles may not be available, but with Domantas Sabonis healthy, it won’t have much of an impact on fantasy hoops. Richaun Holmes and KZ Okpala may see a few extra minutes, but neither guys are great streaming options.

  • SAC Small Forward #13
Keegan Murray (left thumb soreness) is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Knicks.
The good news here is that it’s Murray’s left thumb and not his right that’s the issue. Should the rookie not be able to play Sunday night, defensive specialist KZ Okpala could be in line for additional minutes. However, Terence Davis would get those minutes if he’s cleared to play. Davis is questionable with lower back soreness and would be worth streaming if he plays, but Murray can’t. Okpala can remain on the waiver wire regardless of what happens.

  • SAC Power Forward #41
Trey Lyles (non-COVID illness) is not on the injury report ahead of Saturday’s game against the Clippers.
Lyles participated in Friday’s practice and has since been removed from the injury report. He’ll be back in action after a two-game absence. Lyles isn’t a must-roster player in many fantasy leagues, so his return will not have much impact. Chimezie Metu and KZ Okpala will take a hit in the minutes category, but neither was a factor in fantasy basketball with Lyles sidelined.

  • SAC Power Forward #41
Trey Lyles (non-COVID illness) returned to practice on Friday ahead of their matchup with the Clippers on Saturday.
Lyles has missed their last two games with this illness but appears on track to return soon. It wouldn’t be shocking to see him miss another, in which case Chimezie Metu and KZ Okpala should be the backup bigs. They both saw increased roles in their last game due to the blowout win over Indiana, however, barring another blowout, neither play will see enough minutes to be worth a stream.

  • SAC Power Forward #41
Trey Lyles (non-COVID illness) has been added to the injury report as out for Monday’s game against the Suns.
It’s a fairly late addition, but Lyles isn’t widely rostered, so this won’t impact too many leagues. Chimezie Metu and KZ Okpala should help fill the void off the bench behind Keegan Murray and Domantas Sabonis in the frontcourt, though neither play warrants a rush to the waiver wire.
