  • MLB Designated Hitter #11
Khris Davis officially announced his retirement from professional baseball.
The 36-year-old slugger hasn’t appeared in a big league game since 2021 and hasn’t seen the field at all since his time with the Kentucky Wild Health Gnomes of the independent Atlantic League in 2022. He finishes his career hitting .242/.314/.491 with 221 homers and 590 RBI over 980 games in nine seasons with the Brewers, Athletics and Rangers. Best of luck to Davis in the next chapter of his life.
  • MLB Designated Hitter #11
Khris Davis has signed with the Kentucky Wild Health Genomes of the independent Atlantic League.
Davis, who failed to land a spot on the Athletics’ season-opening roster back in spring training, spent time in the Mexican League earlier this year and will head to the independent Atlantic League. The 34-year-old slugger, who appeared in 114 games last year between the Athletics and Rangers, is hoping to get back to the majors later this season.

  • MLB Designated Hitter #11
Robert Murray of FanSided reports that Khris Davis is “drawing interest from multiple teams.”
Davis, 34, has just a .667 OPS since the start of the 2019 season, so he’d surely have to settle for a minor league deal and hope to hit his way back to the big leagues. The good news for him is that the universal designated hitter would theoretically give him a little more appeal.

  • MLB Designated Hitter #11
Khris Davis doubled on Sunday in the Athletics’ shutout loss at the hands of the Blue Jays.
Davis supplied the free-falling Athletics’ lone extra-base hit of the one-sided affair as they wound up dropping all three games of a pivotal series against the Blue Jays north of the border. Not good.

  • MLB Designated Hitter #11
Khris Davis doubled and singled in three at-bats off the bench Thursday against the Tigers.
Davis didn’t start, but he came off the bench after the Tigers brought in a lefty in the fourth inning, and the first pitch he saw since his callup was lined for an RBI double. Davis should start against lefties, and he’ll do what he can to make a case for DH at-bats against righties, too.

  • MLB Designated Hitter #11
Athletics purchased the contract of DH Khris Davis from Triple-A Las Vegas.
Props to Davis for working his way back to the majors, and in his old stomping grounds in Oakland no less. He was a disaster earlier this season for the Rangers but had put up a ridiculous .333/.382/.921 slash line with 10 home runs and 25 RBI in 16 games at Vegas since inking a minor league deal with the A’s on August 4.

  • MLB Designated Hitter #11
Athletics signed DH Khris Davis to a minor league contract.
Davis, 33, was released by the Rangers back in mid-June after slashing just .157/.262/.333 with two home runs over his first 22 games (61 plate appearances) this season. His possible return to Oakland, where he played from 2016-2020, will begin with a stint in the Arizona Complex League.

  • MLB Designated Hitter #11
    Rangers released DH/OF Khris Davis.
Davis cleared waivers after being designated for assignment last week. Acquired from the Athletics during the offseason, the 33-year-old batted just .157/.262/.333 with two homers over 22 games with the Rangers this season. With his flawed approach and poor defense, it’s fair to wonder how much of a future there is for him at this point.

  • MLB Designated Hitter #11
Rangers placed DH Khris Davis on unconditional release waivers.
Daviss was desingated for assignment back on June 8, but under unconditional release waivers, the 33-year-old will become a free agent if not claimed by another team. The former Athletics slugger was batting just .157/.262/.333 over 61 plate appearances.

  • MLB Designated Hitter #11
Rangers designated DH/OF Khris Davis for assignment.
Eli White will take his spot on the active roster. Acquired from the A’s in the Elvis Andrus deal over the winter, Davis has struggled with a .157/.262/.333 batting line and two homers over 61 plate appearances this season. He’s been a below-average hitter for three years now, though it’s possible someone will take a chance on the 33-year-old on the open market.
