Kevin Ogletree is expected to start in Week 3 in place of Miles Austin (hamstring).
Before anyone gets too excited, remember that Ogletree started in place of Dez Bryant (quad) against the Niners and caught just two passes for 50 yards on four targets. The majority of the game plan against the Redskins in Week 3 figures to focus on Jason Witten and Bryant, leaving Ogletree as a mere desperation play.

Kevin Ogletree caught just two passes for 50 yards in Week 2 against San Francisco.
Ogletree drew the start at X receiver, but was hardly a factor throughout the game. Miles Austin and Jason Witten combined for 29 targets, with Ogletree seeing just four. Consider him a non-factor going forward, unless Austin and Bryant are sidelined for the same game.
  • FA Wide Receiver #15
Kevin Ogletree is considered “likely” to start in place of Miles Austin again this week.
Ogletree can’t be used in fantasy leagues because he still doesn’t know where to line up. He was outplayed last Monday night by Laurent Robinson, who was just re-signed earlier that week.
  • FA Wide Receiver #15
A league source tells Profootballtalk.com restricted free agent Kevin Ogletree has been informed he’ll be non-tendered.
It means Ogletree will become an unrestricted free agent on March 13, and also suggests the Cowboys will work hard to retain free agent Laurent Robinson. Undrafted after foregoing his senior year of college in 2009, Ogletree has just 25 catches in 31 career games. He caught 15 passes in 14 games last season.
  • FA Wide Receiver #15
Free agent WR Kevin Ogletree will visit the Giants Thursday.
Even though Laurent Robinson walked in free agency, the Cowboys declined to tender Ogletree. The former undrafted free agent was never able to seize significant opportunities to win the No. 3 receiver job. Ogletree has just 25 catches in 31 career games.
  • FA Wide Receiver #15
David Moore of the Dallas Morning News suggests that the Cowboys are still in the market for tight end and wide receiver depth.
Coach Jason Garrett specifically mentioned both positions during a breakfast session with NFL reporters on Wednesday. Dallas ranked fifth in the NFL in two-tight end sets in 2011, so replacing elite run-blocking TE Martellus Bennett is a priority. With Laurent Robinson in Jacksonville, they’ll also be looking for an upgrade on Kevin Ogletree and Dwayne Harris as a third receiver.
  • FA Wide Receiver #19
The Cowboys are hoping that their third wide receiver is currently on the roster.
Kevin Ogletree is considered the favorite to replace Laurent Robinson due to his veteran status, but coach Jason Garrett admits he’s far from entrenched. Dwayne Harris, Raymond Radway, and rookie Danny Coale are in the mix, and Andre Holmes is a name to watch if Dallas wants a vertical threat to team with Dez Bryant and Miles Austin. Regardless, don’t expect much fantasy impact here.
  • FA Running Back #43
A team source tells ESPN Dallas FB Tony Fiammetta will be the only restricted free agent tendered a contract by the Cowboys.
QB Chris Greisen will join Kevin Ogletree in being non-tendered. Fiammetta will reportedly receive the $1.26 million tender, giving Dallas the right of first refusal. If Fiammetta signed an offer sheet the Cowboys decided not to match, they would receive a fourth-round pick as compensation.
  • FA Wide Receiver #15
Cowboys re-signed WR Kevin Ogletree to a one-year contract.
Ogletree has more lives than former Lions coach Wayne Fontes. Just when we think he’s fleeing Dallas for the Big Apple, the Cowboys pull him back in. With Laurent Robinson gone to greener pastures, Ogletree should get yet another shot to nail down the Cowboys’ third receiver job. It’s a clear downgrade for Tony Romo, especially in the red zone.
  • FA Wide Receiver #15
The Dallas Morning News doesn’t see restricted free agent Kevin Ogletree “fitting into the Cowboys’ plans” for 2012.
Ogletree is a candidate to be non-tendered in March after another disappointing season. The only way we see him getting another chance is if the Cowboys are unsuccessful in bringing back free agent Laurent Robinson as the third receiver.
