Mitchell Robinson (ankle) is out for Sunday’s game against the Nets.
Unsurprisingly, Robinson will not play in Sunday’s regular-season finale with nothing on the line for the Knicks. With Karl-Anthony Towns also out, players such as Precious Achiuwa, P.J. Tucker and Kevin McCullar will log rotation minutes in Brooklyn. Achiuwa has the best chance of blowing up for fantasy managers in active leagues.
  • NYK Shooting Guard
The Knicks have signed second-round pick Kevin McCullar to a two-way contract.
McCullar, the 56th overall pick in June’s draft, did not play in summer league due to a knee injury that prematurely ended his final season at Kansas. The two-way contract is unsurprising due to the Knicks’ wing depth in the aftermath of the Mikal Bridges trade. While he may be worth a late-round flier in deeper dynasty drafts, McCullar is unlikely to be worth the risk in redraft leagues this season.
  • NYK Shooting Guard
Kevin McCullar (left knee bone bruise) will not play for the Knicks’ summer league team; instead, he will remain in New York to continue rehabbing his knee.
McCullar, the 56th overall pick in last month’s draft, did not play again for Kansas after injuring his knee during a March 9 game against Houston. His absence will allow the Knicks to evaluate other wings on the summer league roster. As for the regular season, McCullar faces a difficult fight for rotation minutes due to how deep the Knicks are at his position.
  • NYK Shooting Guard
The Suns have selected Kevin McCullar with the No. 56 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.
McCullar spent his first three college seasons at Texas Tech before transferring to Kansas for his final two. He blossomed in Lawrence, averaging 18.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.5 triples as a senior. McCullar Jr. is an elite defender who earned Big 12 All-Defense honors in 2023-24. At 6’7, he’s got elite size and length for a guard, and he averaged 1.6 steals in his five collegiate seasons. He can operate as a defensive sparkplug at the next level, and fantasy managers should keep an eye on him if he can earn rotational minutes for the New York Knicks, who acquired him via trade ahead of Phoenix’s selection. It’ll be tough given their recent wing acquisitions, though.
