    Jaguars waived LB Kevin Bentley.
Signed just two weeks ago, the 10-year veteran notched one tackle in one game. Bentley managed 55 tackles in 13 games for the Texans a season ago, but it’s clear he’s no longer viewed as anything more than an end-of-roster player. He should clear waivers.

    Jaguars signed LB Kevin Bentley.
The 10-year veteran will provide depth with Clint Session out for the season. Bentley has been out of the league all season despite recording 52 tackles in 13 appearances and eight starts with the Texans last year.

Colts claimed LB Kevin Bentley off waivers from the Jaguars.
Turning 32 later this month, Bentley totaled one tackle in one game with Jacksonville. He’ll add veteran depth with Pat Angerer nursing a knee injury.

Former Browns linebacker Kevin Bentley is visiting the Seahawks this week.
The Seahawks will look closely at every decent linebacker with a pulse in the next few weeks.

Seahawks signed LB Kevin Bentley, formerly of the Browns, to one-year, $650,000 deal that includes a $150,000 signing bonus.
He started during most of 2003 in Cleveland without distinction. The Seahawks need linebacker depth badly, but Bentley still may be a longshot to start.

Seahawks weak side linebacker LeRoy Hill’s status is uncertain for Sunday due to a foot sprain.
Hill was on crutches Monday and didn’t practice on Wednesday, but is confident he’ll practice Thursday and play in Week 2. His direct backup is Lance Laury, but Kevin Bentley would more likely start in his place.

Texans signed LB Kevin Bentley to a three-year, $4 million contract.
Houston’s addition of Ray Rhodes to the staff undoubtedly helped reel him in. The special teams standout becomes the No. 1 candidate to replace Danny Clark on the strong side. Clark could also return for cheap to compete.
  • HOU Linebacker
Texans signed LB Chaun Thompson, formerly of the Browns, to a two-year, $2.4 million contract. The deal includes a $605,000 signing bonus.
Cleveland had an offer on the table, but it likely wasn’t as substantial. Thompson, 28, figures to battle on the strong side with Kevin Bentley. He can rush the passer, having posted 10 sacks as a reserve in his Browns stint.
