The NFL suspended free agent LB Kentrell Brothers nine games for violating PED policies.
This is his second suspension in three years, so the punishment is longer. Already going unsigned for months, Brothers faces an uphill battle to find a roster spot in 2020. He has spent the last four seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, primarily as a special teamer.

  • FA Linebacker #40
NFL suspended ILB Kentrell Brothers four games for violating the league’s policy on PEDs.
He’ll be eligible to return against the Eagles in Week 5. Brothers is a core special teamer for the Vikings. He played just nine snaps on defense last year.
  • FA Linebacker #40
Vikings signed fifth-round ILB Kentrell Brothers to a four-year, $2.57 million contract.
A prolific tackler and three-year starter at Mizzou, Brothers showed 4.82 “wheels” at the Combine, but flashes on tape. He’s an instinctual player who finishes plays. He’s a moldable piece of clay for coach Mike Zimmer.
  • FA Linebacker #40
Vikings selected Missouri ILB Kentrell Brothers with the No. 160 overall pick of the 2016 NFL draft.
Brothers (6'0/245) led the nation in tackles (152) and earned first-team All-SEC as a senior middle linebacker at Mizzou, where he was a three-year starter. Brothers had a miserable Combine before turning in a respectable Pro Day, where he ran 4.82 with a 31 1/2-inch vertical and 19 bench-press reps. Although Brothers isn’t a special athlete, he did flash special instincts on college tape, was a highly efficient tackler and didn’t embarrass himself in coverage. There is a hint of Danny Trevathan to Brothers’ game. He could be coached up by Mike Zimmer.
