Colts president Bill Polian believes that 2010 seventh-round pick Kavell Conner can be “the next David Thornton.”
Thornton was a versatile linebacker for the Colts early in his career, coming up as a fourth-round pick and earning a starting job by his second season. Conner, 24, collected nine starts in his rookie campaign. He’s in line to compete for a starting position on the strong side during the 2011 offseason.
