Bucs signed Florida State LB Kalen DeLoach.
A former four-star prospect from Islands HS, DeLoach (5’11/210) has been starting at WLB and MLB since the 2021 season. The first team all-ACC linebacker had 68 total tackles, 10.5 TFL’s and 7 sacks to pair with two forced fumbles in the 2023 season. Production has never been an issue for the fifth year senior, with consistent tackle numbers dating back to his first year starting. At only 210 pounds, he makes it a priority to avoid contact with blockers, a habit that hurt how well he was able to fill gaps versus the run. When he is able to slide through unblocked, Deloach is a sure tackler who only misses at a 9.8% rate. His impressive 4.47s forty time (98.7th%) shows when he screams in on blitzes, where he was effective enough to earn an elite 93.7 PFF grade as a pass rusher in 2023.

Florida State four-star 2019 verbal LB commit Kalen DeLoach is taking an official visit to Auburn this weekend.
DeLoach (6'0/206) has been committed to the Seminoles since late July. While Rivals analyst Chad Simmons believes that at this juncture, Florida State remains in a good place to hold onto the linebacker’s pledge through to his signing, we’re curious to see if a few of these commitments ticketed to Tallahassee begin to budge due to the team’s dreary start to the campaign. Speaking anecdotally, this actually happens less than you might think, especially with a program of FSU’s pedigree. Rivals ranks DeLoach as the No. 34 prospect in the state of Georgia for the 2019 cycle.

Florida State received a verbal commitment from four-star 2019 LB Kalen DeLoach.
DeLoach picks the Seminoles over Alabama, Auburn, Michigan and a few other high-profile schools. The 6-foot, 206-pound linebacker ranks 17th among outside linebacker in 247 Sports composite rankings, and the Savannah, Georgia native ranks 30th among players in the state. To no one’s surprise, Willie Taggart’s first full year class is off to a great start, as the Seminoles rank ninth overall in 247 Sports rankings of the 2019 class.

Uncommitted four-star 2019 LB Kalen DeLoach said that he plans on taking official visits to Alabama, Florida State, Auburn and Michigan.
DeLoach (6'0/206) indicated that Michigan and Florida State are the two programs currently pushing hardest for his pledge. He spoke positively about the coaching staffs of both the Wolverines (even referring to UM DC Don Brown as “Donny Brown”). On the 247Sports composite board, DeLoach slides into the rankings at No. 308 overall in the 2019 class. Don’t expect a pledge anytime soon, though. The linebacker does not plan on taking the plunge until after the upcoming season, as all of his official visits are slated for the fall.
