The Bulls announced Monday that they have signed Derrick Favors and Kahlil Whitney to training camp contracts.
Favors and Whitney are joining the Bulls on camp deals, so there’s no guarantee that either will be on the Opening Night roster. In the case of Whitney, he was likely signed with the franchise’s G League affiliate in mind, as he’s bounced around since struggling in his lone season at Kentucky. As for Favors, the veteran’s NBA resume is well-known at this point, but the Bulls already have Nikola Vucevic and Andre Drummond at the center position. The plan is for Favors to be with the Windy City Bulls, so his signing won’t impact fantasy basketball unless either of Chicago’s top two centers suffer an injury.

The Hornets have signed Kentucky small forward Kahlil Whitney and Duke power forward Javin DeLaurier to Exhibit 10 contracts.
Both will have the opportunity to join the Hornets in training camp. Per the rules, any player on an Exhibit 10 contract who is waived and then goes on to spend 60 days with the team’s G-League affiliate would receive a $50,000 guarantee. Whitney played just 18 games at Kentucky before leaving the program in late-January, posting averages of 3.3 points, 1.7 rebounds, 0.4 assists, 0.3 steals and 0.2 blocks per. As for DeLaurier, he played four seasons at Duke and finished his career with averages of 3.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, 0.4 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.9 blocks per game (114 appearances).
