49ers signed TE Justin Peelle, formerly of the Falcons.
A 10-year veteran, Peelle was released with an injury settlement by the Falcons last month. A pure blocker at this stage in his career, he won’t be in line for any catches behind Vernon Davis and Delanie Walker.
  • FA Tight End #47
Chargers reserve TE Justin Peele left last night’s game with a thumb injury.
No word on the severity of the injury. Peele is a backup to Antonio Gates.
  • FA Tight End #47
    Steelers signed TE Justin Peelle.
He replaces FB/TE David Johnson, who was waived/injured in a corresponding move. Now 33, Peelle will look to latch on to the 53-man roster as a blocking specialist.
  • FA Tight End #47
TE Justin Peelle will start in place of the suspened Antonio Gates Sunday.
Peelle has never gained more than 29 yards in a game, but he may be worth a one-week pickup in deeper leagues.

  • FA Tight End #47
Chargers re-sign restricted free agent Justin Peelle to a one-year contract.
Pelle is one of the better backup tight ends in the league. He’s good insurance for Antonio Gates owners.
  • FA Tight End
David Martin (groin) didn’t make the Dolphins’ team flight to London.
Safety Travares Tillman (knee) and DL Vonnie Holliday (ankle) are also out. NT Keith Traylor did make the trip. Justin Peelle will start for Martin, but isn’t a fantasy option even in a solid matchup with the Giants.
  • FA Tight End
David Martin (groin strain) sat out Dolphins practice Wednesday.
The nagging, minor injuries are starting to pile up for Martin after he didn’t miss a game through the first seven weeks. Justin Peelle is his backup.
  • FA Tight End
David Martin is the Dolphins’ unquestioned starter at tight end.
And he’s one of the top values as a late-round TE2 in fantasy leagues. Aaron Halterman, Courtney Anderson, and Justin Peelle are vying for backup duty.
  • FA Tight End #47
Justin Peelle caught four passes for 42 yards in Week 7.
All of Peelle’s catches came in garbage time, and he is not a fantasy option.
