    Texans released C Justin Britt.
Britt essentially was AWOL from the team after Week 1 and reportedly was working through “personal issues” at the time. Signed to a two-year deal last offseason, it’s possible that his NFL career is over. The move frees up about $3 million in cap space.

Texans placed C Justin Britt on the reserve/non-football illness list.
Britt did not play in Week 2, and coach Lovie Smith was coy when asked about the absence. There have been reports he is working through some personal issues. Scott Quessenberry will start at center while Britt is out.

Texans C Justin Britt (undisclosed) is out for Week 2 against the Broncos.
Head coach Lovie Smith was coy when asked about Britt’s absence, saying he would tell the media about Britt’s reason for missing this week’s game another time. Losing Britt for Week 2 isn’t a great development for Davis Mills and the Texans offense as they go against a tough Denver defense.

    Texans re-signed C Justin Britt to a two-year, $9 million contract.
After six seasons with the Seahawks, Britt spent 2020 mostly out of the league before joining the Texans last offseason and then went on to start all 11 games he appeared in around a knee injury. Britt received plus marks for his run blocking and turns 31 in May. He’ll be the favorite to start at the pivot Week 1.

Texans OL Justin Britt said he wants to re-sign with the team this offseason.
Britt was limited to 11 games in his first year with Houston, missing five games on IR. The longtime Seattle starter battled through a lingering knee injury for most of 2021 and also spent time on the COVID list. 30-year-old Britt played last season on a one-year, $5 million contract and will need to prove he’s healthy to return under a new coaching staff.

Texans are expected to activate C Justin Britt (knee, IR) for Week 13 against the Colts.
Britt has been out since hyperextending his knee early in the season. Seventh-round rookie Jimmy Morrissey has struggled as the starter the last few weeks, so Britt’s return should help stabilize the line.

Texans C Justin Britt (questionable, knee) has been ruled out for Week 6.
Britt was a longshot to play after missing practice all week. The loss of Britt is a concern for an offensive line that allowed three sacks and ran for just 67 yards in Week 5. Justin McCray will replace Britt against the Colts.

Free agent addition Justin Britt confirmed he will play center for the Texans.
Britt has played all along the offensive line, but center is his most natural position at this point. The ex-Seahawk missed all of 2020 with a knee injury. The Texans have an opening at the pivot, but 30-year-old (this month) Britt has a lot to prove before being slid back into the starting lineup. It’s not a good situation for the Texans.

Texans signed C Justin Britt, formerly of the Seahawks, to a one-year, $3.2 million contract.
The deal is worth up to $5 million per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Britt, 29, missed the 2020 season because of a knee injury suffered the year prior. A former second-round pick with six seasons of experience, Britt offers low-end starting potential to an interior offensive line lacking much talent. Britt’s health makes him a wild card signing.

Seahawks released/failed physical C Justin Britt.
Britt is still recovering from last year’s torn ACL, and the Seahawks want to remake their offensive line. Headed into his age-29 campaign, durability had not previously been a concern for Britt, though effectiveness has been. At this stage of his career, he is probably best suited to Swiss-army status along the offensive line. Britt can also play tackle, though it has been a minute.
