Hull went down in Sunday’s loss to the Bengals. He’s headed for an MRI Monday.

Hull suffered the injury in Sunday’s loss to the Bengals. A special teamer, he tallied two tackles in 11 games. The former seventh-round pick has two years left on his rookie deal, and should be back to full health well before training camp. He won’t be assured of a roster spot.

Hull has spent the last four seasons as a core special teamer for the Rams and Redskins. He’ll fight for a roster spot and the same Dane Fletcher-type role with the Patriots.

Hull, a former Ram who knows DC Jim Haslett from St. Louis, will take the spot of Bryan Kehl (knee) as a backup linebacker and special teamer.

Hull isn’t going to wow anybody with his physical talent, but he did exhibit a high football IQ and a strong work ethic as Penn State’s leading tackler last season. He’ll help the Rams’ special teams coverage if he makes the final roster.

The early signs aren’t good, as it’s believed Hull may have damaged or even torn his MCL. The seventh-round pick is MLB James Laurinaitis’ backup.

He’ll need reconstructive surgery, putting the 2010 seventh-round pick’s career into question. Already grading out poorly in terms of speed and cover skills, Hull threatens to lose more after tearing a knee ligament.
