Jets QB Jordan Travis retired from the NFL after one season.
Travis suffered a catastrophic ankle injury late in his final season at Florida State in 2023. The Jets took a shot on him in the fifth round of the draft, but Travis suffered a setback in his recovery and did not play as a rookie. In his statement via the team, Travis said his leg never responded the way he had hoped and the medical staff advised him to return. It’s a sad ending for a player who had a future in the NFL before his tragic injury.

Jordan Travis’ agent, Deiric Jackson, said that his rehab with the Jets was “not the best” and that “they tried to rush him.”
“It was too fast. There was pressure on the coaching staff and they tried to get him going sooner than the timeline really was. That caused the setback, and we had to shut him down completely,” Jackson told ESPN’s Rich Cimini. Travis should be ready to go for the 2025 season as he has recovered from his ankle injury, but as a late-round pick from an old regime, it wouldn’t be surprising if he was on the chopping block at final cuts. The Jets have been rumored to want to add a free-agent quarterback and a drafted quarterback to the room this offseason as they try to cobble something together around Tyrod Taylor.

ESPN’s Rich Cimini reports Jets QB Jordan Travis has had “setbacks” in his recovery from a 2023 leg injury.
Travis suffered a catastrophic leg injury during his final collegiate season and was never expected to play in 2024. Jets coaches have hinted since the summer that Travis — a fifth-round selection — has been well behind in his recovery. The best-case scenario would seem to be Travis recovering in time for the team’s offseason practices and workouts. He has no clear path to playing time in 2025 and beyond.

Jets placed QB Jordan Travis (ankle) on the reserve/PUP list.
The Jets have been labeling the fifth-round rookie as behind schedule since the beginning of training camp. It’s not exactly encouraging but is hardly surprisingly considering the extremely serious nature of Travis’ college ailment. We probably aren’t going to see Travis taking real practice reps until next year’s offseason program.

Jets HC Robert Saleh said Jordan Travis’ (ankle) recovery is “going to take a little longer than we were hoping.”
Travis suffered a devastating ankle injury last November and has been rehabbing ever since. The Jets used a fifth-round pick on Travis, who was believed to have a chance to be ready by training camp. Unfortunately, that did not materialize, as Travis opened camp on the NFI list with no timetable given for his return. This season was always going to be a redshirt year for Travis as he looks to recover from his injury and get acclimated to the pro game. It’s unlikely he’ll see the field this season even once healthy.

Jets HC Robert Saleh said Jordan Travis (ankle) could be ready by training camp.
Travis continues to rehab from a severe ankle injury he suffered in mid-November. That injury kept him from working out at the NFL Scouting Combine and Florida State’s pro day and also sidelined him for the rookie minicamp. Earlier reports before the draft suggested Travis would be fully cleared by April, but that doesn’t appear to be the case. There’s no immediate rush to get the 2024 fifth-round pick, as he’s largely expected to redshirt his rookie year behind Aaron Rodgers and Tyrod Taylor. Still, the team would like to get him plenty of reps in the preseason as they look to see what the dual-threat rookie could offer them in the future.

Jets traded up with the Eagles to select Florida State QB Jordan Travis with the No. 171 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
A strong 2023 campaign ended in tragedy for Travis (6’1/200), who suffered a fractured leg in November and was unable to workout at the NFL combine. Another six-year prospect in this year’s class, Travis didn’t get a chance to shine until 2021, when he started the Seminoles’ final seven games of the season. He went on to be a full-time starter in 2022 and 2023, throwing for 5970-44-7 over that span while adding another 593 yards and 14 scores on the ground. He’s shown significant growth throughout his career, and has done a good job of limiting turnovers and sacks – especially in his final two years. It was reported in March that Travis should be fully cleared to participate in football activities come April. He will sit behind Aaron Rodgers and Tyrod Taylor in the Jets’ quarterback room to begin his career.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Florida State QB Jordan Travis (ankle) is expected to be fully cleared to play by April.
Travis suffered a gruesome injury in mid-November that brought an early end to his 2023 season and college career. The Florida State prospect spent six seasons in school and spent his final two years as the Seminoles’ full-time starter, throwing for 5,970-44-7 over that span. Expected to be viewed as a fringe Day 3 pick or priority UDFA, Travis has solid athleticism and could make a practice squad roster this offseason, giving him additional time to develop.

Florida State redshirt junior QB Jordan Travis completed 11-of-15 passes for 207 yards and no touchdowns in Saturday’s 47-7 win over Duquesne.
This game went exactly how one would envision when they think of Florida State vs. Duquesne. The Seminoles outgained the Dukes 638 yards to 164 yards, with three different players rushing for over 100 yards on the day. Travis had a solid day through the air and managed to find the end zone on a five-yard touchdown run to kick off the first quarter. Entering 2022 as the Noles’ QB1, Travis has a chance to show what he’s fully capable of after a strong 2021 season. FSU’s competition will look a little different next week when they travel to LSU to take on the Tigers in a Sunday night battle on September 4th.

Florida State redshirt junior QB Jordan Travis has been named to the Maxwell Award Watch List.
Travis (6'1/201) has the making of a rising star after a successful 2021 campaign in which he lead FSU to a 5-2 record down the stretch. Travis threw for 1,539 yards, 15 touchdowns and six interceptions while also rushing for 134-530-7. A dual-threat with the potential to establish himself as one of the nation’s best QBs in 2022, Travis and the Seminoles could turn into a legitimate threat in the ACC after going 4-4 in conference play last season.
