  • FA Shooting Guard #20
The Celtics have waived Jordan Schakel.
Two days after the Celtics signed Schakel to an Exhibit 10 contract, he has been waived. This transaction sets the stage for Schakel to return to the Maine Red Claws, who he played for last season. Remaining with the Red Claws for at least 60 days will earn the former San Diego State guard a $77,500 bonus.

According to CelticsBlog’s Bobby Manning, the Celtics have signed Jordan Schakel to an Exhibit 10 contract.
Schakel will participate in the Celtics training camp for the second consecutive fall. Ultimately waived before the start of the season, he averaged 13.0 points and 5.2 rebounds per game for the Maine Red Claws of the NBA G League. Expect Schakel to remain with the Red Claws, as Boston has limited roster spots (and cap space) to work with.
  • NBA Point Guard #15
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Wizards are signing Devon Dotson to a two-way contract.
The Wizards are banged up at the point guard position, which may factor into the decision to bring Dotson back. He was with the team in training camp on an Exhibit 10 contract, only to be waived just before the start of the regular season. To complete the transaction, the Wizards are waiving Jordan Schakel.

Jordan Schakel and Jordan Goodwin will be the Wizards’ two-way players this season.
They’ll spend time with both the Wizards and their G-League team this season but won’t have any fantasy value.

  • FA Shooting Guard #17
In order to clear room for new two-way signing Jordan Schakel, the Washington Wizards have waived Joel Ayayi.
Ayayi appeared in just seven games for the Wizards this season and failed to play more than five minutes in any of those, so this has no fantasy impact.

Jordan Schakel is signing a 10-day contract with the Wizards via the hardship exception, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Schakel will help bring some depth to Washington’s backcourt while Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is in quarantine, but this is a wait-and-see situation in most settings. In the G League this season, he’s put in averages of 14.1 points, 3.0 boards, 1.6 dimes, 3.1 triples and just 1.0 turnover per game on 44.3% shooting from the field.
