Jon Kitna has officially been named the starter for the Bengals this weekend.
The more we think about it, the more we like Kitna to have a solid game versus the Bills. The Buffalo secondary is prone to big pass plays and the Bengals excel at them. Look for Kitna to keep the Bengals juggernaut rolling, despite the matchup.

Jon Kitna will start versus the Bills this weekend.
Can they stretch the field in cold conditions against the Bills? Why not? The Bengals offense is playing as well as any unit in the league and Kitna can keep it goin.
  • FA Quarterback #3
Jon Kitna was upgraded to probable for week ten with a foot injury.
He’ll be able to backup Carson Palmer this weekend.
  • FA Quarterback #3
The Bengals contacted San Diego about their potential interst in QB Jon Kitna.
Right now, they aren’t interested. The Chargers haven’t appeared too interested in much this offseason besides cutting salary.
  • FA Quarterback #3
Jon Kitna is likely to start again this weekend for the Bengals.
Bad news for Chad Johnson and T.J. Houshmandzadeh owners. Cold weather in Cincinnatti could turn this into a running-heavy game.

Jon Kitna will not be retained as the Cowboys’ QBs coach.
Apparently recently-anointed head coach Mike McCarthy couldn’t find a place for him on his new staff. With Kitna headed elsewhere, TEs coach Doug Nussmeier will likely serve as the team’s new quarterbacks coach. An accomplished high school coach prior to joining the Cowboys (whom he spent four seasons with as a backup quarterback to Tony Romo), the 47-year-old Kitna should land on his feet.

Cowboys hired Jon Kitna as QBs coach.
The ex-Cowboys backup has been coaching high school football since 2012. He has zero experience on college or NFL sidelines. He will be tasked with assisting 29-year-old OC Kellen Moore, who has only one year of coaching experience at any level. It’s a bold new direction for the normally-staid Cowboys, but one fraught with risk. Both Kitna and Moore have long been praised for their football minds.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the Cowboys are expected to hire Jon Kitna as QBs coach.
The Cowboys’ current QBs coach is Kellen Moore, though it appears Moore will be promoted to offensive coordinator in place of Scott Linehan, who was fired last week. Kitna has never coached in the NFL, though he has experience at the high school level and was going to serve as the OC for the AAF’s San Diego Fleet before the Cowboys’ job opened up. He’s also familiar with the organization having spent four of his 17 NFL seasons with Dallas. Assuming he gets the job, Kitna will be tasked with getting the most out of franchise quarterback Dak Prescott.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports the Cowboys are considering Jon Kitna for a position on the team’s coaching staff.
With QBs coach Kellen Moore reportedly a candidate to succeed Scott Linehan as offensive coordinator, Kitna could inherit Moore’s current role as the team’s QBs coach. Kitna spent his final four seasons with Dallas and seems to have a good rapport with both owner Jerry Jones and head coach Jason Garrett. The 46-year-old has several years of coaching experience at the high school level and was recently named OC for the San Diego Fleet of the Alliance of American Football.

Lions QB Jon Kitna assumes he will be the Lions starting quarterback.
So do we, ranking Kitna as a quality late QB2 pick this season with Mike Martz on his side. “I’m not looking at it as a quarterback competition, I’m approaching it as I’m the starter until somebody tells me different,” Kitna said.
