Patriots signed Georgia DT John Atkins.
Atkins (6’3/321) was a two-year starter on the Bulldogs’ defensive front, managing 3.5 career tackles for loss and zero sacks as a space eater who created avenues for playmaker LBs Roquan Smith and Lorenzo Carter. Big bodied and long armed (34") but a sub-first-percentile athlete, Atkins is an old-school, one-trick-pony run stopper with no pass-rush value. He’d do well to carve out a Kyle Love-like career.
