    Johan Mieses has signed with the Hanshin Tigers of Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball.
    The deal, which was rumored to be in the works last month, is now official. Mieses batted .271/.387/.536 with 12 homers and five stolen bases in 230 plate appearances last year for Triple-A Worcester in the Red Sox’ minor league system.

    According to Yahoo Japan, former Red Sox minor league outfielder Johan Mieses is expected to sign with the Hanshin Tigers in Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball.
    Mieses signed a minor league deal with the Red Sox this past winter. The 27-year-old has never played in the major leagues and hit .271/.387/.536 with 12 homers and five stolen bases across 230 plate appearances for Triple-A Worcester.

    Mieses returns to the Red Sox’ system after hitting .233/.323/.484 with 19 homers and three stolen bases across 82 games between Double-A Portland and Triple-A Worcester last year. The 26-year-old outfielder possesses plenty of over-the-fence pop and should continue to make plenty of noise in hitter-friendly Polar Park in Worcester this upcoming season.

    Dodgers OF prospect Johan Mieses launched a pair of home runs Monday in a win for High-A Rancho Cucamonga.
    Mieses drove in a career-high six runs as the Quakes cruised to a 12-1 victory over visiting Inland Empire. Monday marked his first career multi-homer game. The 21-year-old has hit safely in five of his last six games, batting .385 with 10 RBI during that span. Mieses carries a disappointing .228 average this year with 105 strikeouts in 325 at-bats but has made up for it with 16 home runs, which ranks second in the California League. He’s also seventh in doubles with 23.

    Cardinals acquired OF Johan Mieses from the Dodgers for INF Breyvic Valera.
    Mieses has good raw power but batted just .215 with a .293 on-base percentage in 458 plate appearances last season between High-A Rancho Cucamonga and Double-A Tulsa. Valrea was designed for assignment by the Cardinals Opening Day.
